Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AlbaniaWe have book a room for 2 adult and 1 child 4 years old. The owner give a room with only one double bad, the reservation was more than clear, he asked for payment in advance for 4 nights and we have payed, staff very rude and unprofessional, they said openly that if we don't like we can live the hotel and in fact we have stayed only one night. No money back no apologies, they don't deserve clients. Please don't book DODONA hotel.

United KingdomOnly tiny thing for us would be a high chair… we travelled with a toddler and it would have made life easier, but this is a theme in Albanian restaurants. Our hotel was not the only one! But apart from this, was just fabulous xx
Staff were lovely, location great, facilities fab! Loved it here! Complimentary room upgrade for my partner’s birthday made our stay even more special and easy with the kids. Wonderful!

IrelandFantastic hotel, travelled in June and it was nice and quiet. Private beach and also a pool so best of both worlds. The young man who worked in the restaurant was brilliant to us, fair play to him. The man at reception was also really helpful.

United StatesThere was a lack of amenities, at least in my room. The bathroom had some liquid shower gel but no other toiletries, no hooks or towel bars to hang your towels. The shower was poorly designed and caused water to run all over the floor. No glasses for water, no bedside table, no tea or coffee facilities. The oversized furniture made the room so cramped. The hotel is far from town and an expensive taxi ride to get there.
The pool is large and clean. The beach is easily accessible, stony but with such clear water. The room was clean with nice towels. Breakfast was ok.

IrelandRooms were small and outdated. Hardly had space to open suitcase. Under beds were dusty and had someone's old makeup sponge underneath. Seats in balcony were dirty and had no table. No soap in rooms, only shower gel (advertised facilities state all shower items are provided) shower doesnt have a door which meant the floor was soaked! Drinks menu is available but most of drinks advertised are not available including cocktails. As for the house white wine....toxic! Breakfast...poor. One type of bread, no croissants. No gluten free or alternative milk options or breakfast tea available. Didn't eat any thing else here. Pool was dirty, chipped tiles along edges and steps. No sun umbrellas available. Sun loungers were grubby. The slide was missing second step at the top which made it dangerous which meant a very disappointed 3 year old! Way over priced!
Some of the staff were friendly

United KingdomTo begin with, the location of the property is very out of the way unless you own a car. We had to walk for an hour or spend €15/20 on taxis every time we left the hotel. The breakfast was actually awful, everything was very poorly made so we barely ate. Hotel restaurant which you have to pay for is even worse, not sure why this hotel calls itself a pizzeria but that’s definitely not the case. Don’t even get me started on the WiFi which would disconnect every 10 minutes. The room itself was okay but I did hurt my leg on the bed frame surrounding it as has sharp corners with very little space to walk around it. The shower floor is also flat so the water goes everywhere when you take a shower, not ideal.
We had a sea view room which was amazing and we were also able to watch the sunset every night. Private beach which comes with free sun loungers was also lovely.

SwedenAwful hotel, don’t visit it. The manager was rude and tricked us to pay for a extra day. We had also some type of bed bugs at our room and the hotel wasn’t even open for giving us a new room, only willing to “clean” the room for us.
The ocean view.

United KingdomAs in general in Albania most places using cash but it was not a problem to pay with card if you spend more then 1500 lek. Just be prepared with the cash that’s all.
The staff is amazing and treated us like royals. Nagi the waiter is doing a very good job and we were really happy with the service. Definitely an extra to have a pool and a quiet environment yet a 15 drive from the port and 25 from Ksamil. They called us taxis and sorted our travel. Also recommended a few places for us to visit. Overall a good deal we were very pleased.

SwedenIt was a weird vibe at the hotel where the managers (owner and receptionist) made it a very uncomfortable stay. They treated their staff poorly and lied to us when they told that there were no buses in Sarandä and the only way we could go anywhere was by taking taxi with them (we had ofc made research beforehand and knew there were busses there, which made us not trust them during our stay). We felt interrogated every time we tried to go out because we did not want to stay at the hotel at all. We tried to be out as much as possible. Furthermore, the hotel is very far from both Sarandä and Ksamil which was very disappointing - takes approximately 50 min to walk in to the city center of Sarandä.
It was clean and the hotel rooms were in good condition. Good breakfast, clean pool and ok facilities.

DenmarkBEDBUGS! there were bedbugs in the first room we had. The staff got irritated as we tried to explain. 3 persons room, with 2 beds normal size, 1 very short bed. The balcony had two chairs, no table. Along the glass in the shower the floor was dirty (black). The hotel was poorly maintained. Didn't look like a 4 star hotel.
The view from the balcony, especially the sunset. Free sunbeds at the beach Breakfast was a buffet, however quality not that good.

AustraliaThere is a little bit of a distance to the main centre, but taxis are cheap and the walk is nice and scenic.
We had a lovely stay at Hotel Dodona! as soon as we arrived, we were welcomed and were upgraded to a sea view suite! the views were amazing and room was super comfortable. The staff here are so accommodating and even gifted us a beautiful Albanian white wine. They also organised a taxi to the ferry and even printed our ferry ticket for us. We spent most of our time laying by the private beach on the beach chairs or swimming in their huge pool.

United KingdomShower head was broken and only worked if you held it in place. Bathroom did not have hand soap. 2/3 outlets in room were not working. No bedside table lamps, only a bright ceiling light. Breakfast was disappointing - selection was picked over and they were no longer refilling food in the last hour of the breakfast period; ran out of plates and did not put out any more; no mugs - they were instead offering plastic cups for drinking hot beverages. Coffee jug was empty and they did not refill at our request.

United KingdomThe room and the rest of the hotel is in need of modernisation and is not very practical, particularly not having many plug sockets and storage. The walk in shower would always flood the bathroom floor which was such a pain to keep having to dry to use afterwards. The location of the hotel is very secluded and so you’ll need transport or a taxi every time you want to go to town which is about 15/20 mins and the taxis seem to charge €20 one way. So it can get expensive to travel around.
The sea view room from our room was spectacular and the pool was a good size and having the beach on the door step is very useful.

Belgiumac was not working or very poorly, electricity was more off then on in the room, they promised a baby bed at 2pm (reception), at 6pm (owner) and when we came back at 10pm it was still not there. coffee in the morning is cold (thermos) and they charge you extra for a fresh coffee. the owner is just sitting there all day not managing his (friendly) staff! a shame, could be a nice place. 4 star hotel?
location is top IF you have your own car, otherwise it is to far from the centre, private beach is nice
