We had completed the Theth to Valbone hike and this was our one night stay at the end. We had a private, clean, comfortable room with a clean bathroom just outside of our door. Our host was so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. As we hadn't collected any provisions on our way to the guesthouse, we asked if dinner was possible, which it was (for a very reasonable price). Our host also kindly offered us a coffee, which was brought to our room. Dinner and breakfast was freshly made, home cooked food that we ate downstairs in their home. It was all delicious and generous. Our host even wrapped up our spare doughnuts to go for our return journey to Shkodër. This was our most local stay and felt more like a homestay, which was a really rewarding experience that we both really valued.

We've spent one night at this accomodation but it was one of our favourite places in Albania! The host lady was incredibly sweet, really made us feel welcomed. Upon our arrival she offered tea for us and prepared a great dinner and breakfast! It might be tricky to find the guesthouse, but once you call them, they can guide you there. The room was really comfortable and clean as well! We really liked the quietness and the surroundings too! I can highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone who is looking for a remote place to recharge close to the nature!

The hostess was super friendly and helped me with everything I asked. Both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean. Views from the guesthouse was just breathtaking. You can have a delicious dinner for extra cost which I definitely reccommend - both the breakfast and dinner were just amazing. Highly recommend!

There was nothing to dislike

Our hosts could not have been more friendly, welcoming, and caring. We loved chatting about their life in Valbone, their family, and day to day. The breakfast is excellent and all home grown. We also ate dinner here and would recommend this. The location is rural which made for really impressive scenery and great visibility of stars at night. At the same time it was only a short walk to “central” Valbone.

Stay here. It’s amazing.

We absolutely adored our stay here. Yes the location is a bit out of Valbone but we preferred it that way as Valbone is a bit busier and not as pretty as the valley we were sleeping in. We have been in Albania for 1 month and this is by far the best traditional food that we have eaten with a lot of ingredients coming from either the garden or from the animals. The lady running the place who also cooks is lovely and attentive. It’s not a far walk from the main tourist swimming area and they can organise transport to the start of the trek to theth which cuts off about an hours walk. All in all our favourite accomodation from our trip so far!

Nothing at all

Our host family were so friendly and amazing. They helped us get a taxi the next day at short notice. The location is so beautiful as you enjoy your morning coffee looking at mountains and seeing all the local animals. The food was so tasty and the room, cleanliness and facilities far exceeded our expectations especially for such a cheap price. Would recommend everyone to stay here. I hope to be back one day.

The hostess was very friendly. She Cooked me an incredible meal (vegan) with soup and a main course, and all ingredients coming fresh from the garden. A quiet peaceful and very clean living space. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend!

Bucaria, ‘the beautiful’, was a fantastic host from start to finish. The food that she prepared was from heaven, and 100% local and fresh! The place felt like a dream and the neighbours’ children were adorable. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer ❤️

The wifi is working badly, but that is understandable, this place is very isolated and perfect for a rest.

A very friendly family that took care of us. The father picked us up at the end of the trail from theth, so that we didn't have to walk on the long asphalted street to valbone. The communication was done from the daughter, who also speaks English. The mother prepared the dinner and breakfast for us. Everything was homemade with local products, the best food I had in Albania so far and probably the best byrek of my life. The place is very calm and peaceful, there is not much to do, but for us was perfect, we just wanted to rest after the hike. We could also use the washing machine.

Options for dinner nearby are a little limited, with two within 15 minutes’ walk. As Villa Dini was already full, I ended up having an extremely bad and expensive meal at Restaurant Rilindja. However, given how helpful the hosts at Gezim Selimaj were, I believe they would’ve helped me find a better alternative had I asked them :)

Truly excellent hosts who made me feel comfortable and welcome. Delicious and generous breakfast. Delicious Albanian doughnuts, bread, honey and jam, eggs, cheese, tomatoes and cucumber, and mountain tea. This set me up perfectly for the day’s hike! Lovely, cozy room, which was modern and spotless. It is exactly as pictured. The private bathroom was also nice and very clean. Fabulous views from the front door of the mountains. I was generously given a lift to the trailhead to Theth - many thanks! Location was easily accessible from the main road - I was dropped off by a van transfer from Fierze and found the property really easily with the advice sent by the hosts on the day. Communication was great. Most importantly for me, I felt very safe at the property as a solo female traveller, especially given that the room itself locked with a key.

We had a very nice time in Valpona and in the guest house. The rooms are very comfortable, bright and everything was very clean. The owner's hospitality is particularly noteworthy, as she also prepared us an excellent breakfast every morning. So that we could eat in peace, she even held our little son in her arms and played with him every morning. Thank you very much for this pleasant days we had. We would love to come back in the future.
