The only thing I can think of is that the rooms can't be darkened which is very typical in Albania but a bit unfortunate if you go to bed late and want to sleep in.

The owner is extremely friendly and sweet. The hostel is very small with only a few rooms, located in a characteristic old stone house that's been renovated. It's a very cute and cosy place and lacks the typical hostel character. The kitchen is modern, nicely decorated and well equipped and the bathrooms are modern and clean. Free parking is available out front along the cobblestone street, and there are two small shops close-by. The old town with bars and restaurants and the old bazar are only a few minutes walk away but the hostel is very quiet. For my last night I switched room and ended up with a lovely balcony overlooking the city and the mountains. What a view to wake up to! I can highly recommend this hostel and will definitely come back!

It was a fabulous stay.

It was a great place to stay. The room was large with a balcony and air-conditioning. The hostel was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The layout of the hostel was great. The hostel owner was very helpful and friendly making you feel st home. Great location and fabulous view from the balcony (if you choose that room.) Would highly recommend the hostel and would love to visit again.

The location is close to the old town and the new town, so it's easy to access both! The hostel only has 3 rooms, so it's a really nice place to relax and get some peace. Everything is clean and cared for. Medion is always available by chat or phone.

There is no common room where to hang out. No kitchen, so you can't even have your breakfast. Bad sewage smell in the bathroom. No one at reception to get some info.

The woman who checked me in was really nice. Bed in the dorm was comfortable. The whole place was very clean.

There was tiny room with 6beds. There was no one at the reception or in the hostel altogether. Just guests. Toilets and shower were absolutely awful like a public toilet. No toilet paper in any of the toilet. Hair in the shower.

Too many beds in a small dormitory. Usually there is nobody at the reception and I found out that the dorm is very easy to access from the street, as the front door is always open and no presence at the reception, so very insecure according to me.

The hostel is super clean. Spacious bathroom and nice kitchen. Easy short walk to the center of the old town, from the bus stop it is uphill, but that counts for all the hotels.

Very inattentive staff with no english. Owner overcharged me for the room as she didn’t understand the euro to leo conversation and wouldn’t listen to reason. Wasn’t a great experience overall

There’s no one at reception, so you have to wait for a bit to check in. Since there is no one working there, sometimes is hard to get help; for example, I could get hot water in the shower and received no answer from the hostel when I contacted them trough WhatsApp, so I had to skip the shower :( But other than that, the hostel is ok for a one night stay

The double bed in the family room was so creaky and squeeky that one often wakes up the other just by moving which left us sleeping very badly. Once you arrive, there is nobody waiting for you and if you cannot call an Albanian phone number, then it’s not clear how to reach them. On the last day it seemed like they prepare a breakfast for others which we were never been offered - just as did not get any information about Gjirokaster whatsoever. This place has potential but has room to grow.

I had a memorable stay in this Hostel. The owners were very accommodating and kind. I planned to stay only for one night but end up staying 3 nights. I love my traditional Albanian room. There is an access to a terrace where there is amazing view, which I enjoyed after the day. It is walking distance to all the sites. All facilities were clean. The owners are also very helpful and will do their best to make your stay memorable, have wonderful experience and enjoyable in Gjirokaster.
