How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Breakfast could have a bigger variety of options, but it's more than enough to start a day.
I appreciated the convenient location, just a short walk from the central train station, making it easy to explore Vienna and access public transportation. The modern and clean facilities, including a spacious lobby and comfortable rooms, were impressive. The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with directions and recommendations. The free Wi-Fi was reliable.

1) When I came to the room, the only free bed was full of dirty bed sheets and wet towels. Why? I replaced onto the table in the room something like 2 wet towels, two or one blanket, dirty bed sheets. It was too late to ask to change the sheets on my bed and I slept in the clothes. Maybe you can prevent this in future by giving to people not only the room number, but also the bed number. I think, long stayed people in my room just decided to store all dirty stuff on a "free" bed which supposed to be mine one night. 2) Ants in the room!!!! 5th floor. When i woke up, the first thing I saw - a lot of ants in front of my face on the wall. 3) Are rooms cleaned at all? Tbh it was a big collection of trash in the room. Three different trash bags and all were full. Seemed like the room wasn't cleaned that day.
1) good location 2) the possibility to store your luggage before/after your check in/out 3) people at the reception are happy to help always, but there were only one or two guys and they were always very busy with a lot of guests, so you need to wait a lot 4) shower gell/shampoo available for free

What I didn't like? That would be a very, very long list. My advice; if you can afford to pay a little more, stay somewhere else. If you can't, then good luck..
The location is great! It's really close to the train station and a shopping center.

I found the staff very helpful and kind! They definietly brightened the mood up even more. Overall it is a nice hostel, great rooms, cheap prices To the ones who come with public transport such as train - bus - metro 100% recommend

Location was best of all. Minutes from the main train station. Comfortable beds with no squeek and good linens. The breakfast buffet was well worth the extra fee.

Some rooms lack any storage options and in the rooms where they are, the lockers are not well maintained. One emergency light from the 3rd floor is hanging.

The sound proof was very very bad, I can basically hear every single noise from outside : anyone open and close the door/ the crowd passing by/ travellers who drag suitcases over...etc There are also crowds in front and at the lobby almost every nights; people gathering for a puff of smoke or group of students just meet up at lobby just chatting and giggling, seriously day time is so much more quiet than night time as everyone went out during daytime. Can also smell the cigarette from window coz someone was smoking at the window upstairs/downstairs and the smoke just flew into my window 🫠 (I stayed at single room) Hygiene and Cleanliness is okay, average level But the location is outstanding : guess that's why the business is so good and full of travellers
Great location - am afraid that's the only good thing I could think of 😅
