Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGreat place to stay. We have been to Achensee many times and it is the perfect idyllic Alpine town. The Vaya resort is located right on the hiking routes and everything is modern and comfortable. We travelled with two young kids and two dogs, and the combination of having our own little house yet linked to a hotel was perfect.

NetherlandsThe reception was hidden in a room (temporarily?), it didn’t feel very professional. Receptionist acted a bit ignorant and uncomfortable in speaking English. In our opinion the breakfast was scarce and if you come after 10am, they might already be cleaning it up, even though breakfast is served up to 10:30am. Dinner was ok, but wouldn’t go back for the food here.
The room was beautiful, big and comfortable. Coffee and tea available in the room and we loved the bed, shower and bath

IndiaWe checked in at 5:30 PM, despite the official check-in time being earlier, and were given a 2-bedroom apartment instead of the 3-bedroom we had booked. The apartment felt smaller than depicted in the pictures, falling short of perceived value. Parking, although open-air, was unexpectedly chargeable, and the only on-site restaurant required "advanced" bookings. Overall, the resort felt oversold, with little attention to customer experience.
The staff responsiveness (housekeeping) was fantastic.

LithuaniaWashing machine and clothes dryer would be big advantage. We paid 40€ for parking for 5 nights, however in our opinion it shouldn’t be taxed in such place.
Our appartment was spacious for family of 4 persons. It was really well equipped, heated wooden floors, comfortable beds. We made breakfast and dinner in the appartment, so we found all cutlery and cooking tools we need, including dishwashing machine. We enjoyed sauna area for adults and our kids enjoyed with swimming pool although swimming pool is not big.

Czech Republic1. I knew that there is a paid parking for €8, but in the summer I don't really understand what it is for, except for the cat that left paws all over the car. If it was at least included in the accommodation, so that it wouldn't be so obvious. Does anyone go to such a place by bus? 2. Breakfast for €25 per person. OK, space to show your qualities - not filled. A completely ordinary breakfast (yes, I have experience from other accommodations where there is a much bigger offer for half the price). 3. I met the cleaning service daily in our part of the accommodation. After 3 days I wondered when they would probably come and posted an "OK, Thx" sign on the doorknob, nothing. The next day also nothing, so I went to the reception, where I was told that our suite is not subject to cleaning, so I took towels, toilet paper, dishwasher capsules from the reception. I appreciate the fact that such an allowance was not charged to me. 4. The wellness and pool is beautiful again. We didn't swim outside because we were with a small child, but we enjoyed the indoor pool with other children. I think it probably put off the adults but they had an outdoor swimming pool where there is an age restriction. Unfortunately, I wanted to relax a bit in the sauna in the evening, but it was only 70° at 8:00 p.m. The fact that the wellness center is open until 21:00 does not mean that it is in operation.
The environment here is wonderful. The view of the mountains, the appearance of houses for accommodation and individual rooms.

GermanyImpossible to get some relax: kids screaming and running the whole time, diving in the internal warmed pool and in the whirpool, running through the saunas in the adult area throwing ice and slamming doors. Parents yelling loudly in the relax naked zone, entering with clothes and shoes, while their kids destroy any hope for relax. No one from the staff ensuring rules for quiete and hygene are respected. Rooms are nice but cleaning is random: sometimes towels are changed, sometimes the sink is cleaned. The room door cannot be locked from indoor: staff entering without even knocking while we were in intimate situations. Food: do NOT book the included dinner; overpriced for quality and quantity. Better to eat somewhere else.
Very nice and freshly renovated hotel, with amazing view and modern SPA. The panorama is amazing from every side, pool and balcony. BUT. Read the negative part.

NetherlandsExcessive Fees - The additional charges are quite off putting. An 8 euro daily parking fee just the a general lot and a daily 30 euro pet fee, supposedly for cleaning, seem excessive—especially the pet fee, which is the highest I've encountered in all my travels. They even charge for refilling coffee/tea after the first night's stay. On top of that, there are multiple tip jars throughout the breakfast area and reception, which comes off as tacky and honestly a bit greedy, considering the prices already being charged. Inconvenient Timings - The check-in time is 4 pm, and check-out is at 10 am, which feels quite restrictive. Breakfast also ends at 10 am, making it hard to have a relaxing morning. Room Conditions - The rooms are on the smaller side and lack air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable. Kids in the Spa Area - There should be stricter age restrictions for children in the wellness area. I've seen comments from others about this, and I agree—having kids use the jacuzzi for snorkeling isn’t a good for anyone. Poor Value for Money - Overall, the price-to-value ratio is disappointing. We avoided the restaurant based on the reviews, but we did try the Tirol hut for snacks, which was overpriced for what it offered. On a positive note, I highly recommend Scholastika for food on the lake.
Lovely new facilities, renovations, and a great location.

United Arab EmiratesThe restaurant staff provided a very poor experience. They didn’t serve us or help us find a seat for breakfast over the course of three days. When I asked one staff member for a coffee cup for the machine, he dismissively said it was in the kitchen and shrugged as if to say, “What do you want me to do?” On another occasion, after a rainy night, the chairs were wet. The staff assisted European couples while ignoring us because we are Middle Eastern Arabs. Overall, the restaurant experience was extremely bad from top to bottom.
I liked the rooms and the reception staff. They were helpful and made our stay comfortable in those aspects.
