How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It wasn't clean. It doesn't have air conditioning, just a fan, and it wasn't enough for the heat in the room. The breakfast wasn't that good for the cost that has. Is better to buy at the supermarket. The kitchen doesn't have a tap for the water, very useless.

Grepat location, close to trams pand U station, discount supermarrket just opposite, great breakfast, all was very tasty Quiet neighbourhood. Im satisfied with my choice

This is NOT a hostel, it's a hotel with dormbeds that looks like a hospital.As impersonnal as it can gets...

The rental contract stipulated a dormitory with 8 people and during my stay they put an extra bed without autorisation so we ended up in the dormitory with nine people. When I told them that, they didn't care.

The staff does not come until 9 or 10 am. I wanted them to keep my bag, but I could not do that.
This hostel is really convenient for sightseeing and quiet location.

Old building, uncorfortable bed, there is no kitchen!! No explanation from recepcionist and children playing around in it. Really hot in the room. Not a place to meet people if travelling alone.

Bath room and kitchen could be cleaner. I don’t think they clean everyday. The room I was staying was really tiny. The door was just beside a bank bed. Also the reception working time on the information wasn’t correct. They hadn’t responded till the day my check in since I booked and told me I had to self check in. I asked if I could check in normally cause I would get there during the working hour, they replied just “NO” without any words else. That wasn’t nice.
It’s cheap as such a good location. My room mates were nice.

Nothing really I had a lock for the locker but if I hadn't you could pay for one at reception
Beautiful clean rooms and each bed had its own light and fan Showers were also excellent

Really lonely, no option or place to meet other travellers and talk to them / sit with them, unless you're in the same room and my room was empty most of my stay. No facilities (such as a kitchen). Toilet and shower weren't very comfortable.

i hear the sound coming from other rooms, which is tolerable.
what i like most is there location bus & tram are easy accessable. Restaurant nearby even Hofer market is superb.

the room was very warm. small fans are placed by each bed however they are noisy and didn’t provide sufficient cooling. The bathroom facilities were nice however they were a little bit untidy and points during the day. this may be a reflection on other guests and not necessarily the lack of cleaning from the property owners.
The location was excellent. There were two of us travelling together and we were fortunate enough to receive a three person room to ourselves. the property provided clean towels and bed linen too.

Very creaky floors, hard not to wake other guests up when coming in/out of the room. Also too a bit expensive for a hostel (nevertheless, still the cheapest in Vienna).

some shower heads were broken, but still functioning (just had to hold it). The fridges were available but no freezer (thankfully i didn’t need it). the receptionist wasn’t always available at the front desk. The storage in the lobby was opened by anyone with a key, and because the receptionist isn’t always there i didn’t feel safe leaving my things.. i wish the front desk had lockers like the rooms
the location was AWESOME. staff were nice (when they were there). however, you were able to contact them via whatsapp or chat which made it helpful. rooms were comfy and has heaters
