How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I was expecting a better level of service. I arrived late at the hotel, hoping to get some proper rest, but was woken up at 10 AM by staff informing me it was time to check out—even though the actual check-out time is 12:30 PM. They knocked on the door twice, making it difficult to fall back asleep afterward. I also inquired about the Wi-Fi password but received no response.

As we reached so first it was long wait in the street and second the WC was in usable and they clean it in like 6 hours

I didn't get the room I booked. The communication in English was impossible. They left no towels on the room! Toilets and showers really dirty!!
It's cheap for Vienna. Sheets were clean, but not the room.

1. Terrible condition. 2. You can only pay by cash - I had big issue with that one. 3. Poor contact with property: I was waiting to enter the property at first and the receptionist didn't speak English at all.
I don't know what to sa good about that hotel, besides the price, which was well below avarage in Vienna.

It was unclean, we had a kitchen but the oven didn’t work and the fridge was filthy. We were given blue paper towels as toilet roll which we had to go and ask for. There was a broken chair in the wardrobe. Lots of bugs, dead and alive.
The beds were very comfortable, and we were given a private bathroom even we thought we’d have to have a shared one.

Nothing really. Difficulty in getting in. Others also waiting at the door to gain access. Had to chase the porter for towels as none were in the room, and chase him again as there was no soap in the bathroom so you could wash your hands after using the lavatory. He partially refilled but the container were empty again the next morning and not filled again during my stay. Had to chase the porter for internet connection password as the one in the room was outdated. The fan provided had never been cleaned. The blades covered in mold and barely making a breeze. Cleaned them myself.

We were supposed to get an apartment for 3 and instead we had to sleep in a room for 2 for a night because our booked apartment was taken??
The location was great and the man working at the reception was really nice

they do not have designated time for cleaning one has to make request for the room to be cleaned
the staff was friendly and they attended to all our enquiries on time. the property is very near a train station which made it very easy for us to access to our venue

Dirty sheets, black mould in the shower tray dew to no extraction fan. A sink with no plumbing quite deceptive. No kitchen. Mattress was collapsed. Door handles, shower spouts and cabinet doors fell apart.

dirty shared toilet, it was never cleaned
very basic accomodation/cheap price, and convenient close to metro station, but main problem here is the dirty toilets and showers that are never cleaned!

The floors have not been swept in quite a long time as there was a thick layer of dust on the floor. Some of the staff are smoking inside the hostel. Additionally, the manager of the property that greeted me was not able to speak English or German fluently, although to his credit he used an audio translator on his phone and was somewhat friendly.
The bed was comfy and you get what you pay for.

May be cleaner. The room is not in very good shape. Toalete is usually dirty and spoiled by customers.
The room is good in size. The heating is excellent. In a good location close to city transport.

Compared to other places it seems cheaper but do not expect much. The restroom is shared and there is no hot water in the bathroom. The wifi is slow. It is just an option to spend the night, nothing more.

We stayed as a family and the rooms were so dirty. There were hair all over the bedsheets and pillowcases. We requested to change our room and there were no bedsheets in the new room so we had to put them ourselves. The building and the rooms have cigarette smell. Some parts of the rooms were moldy. It was noisy and not comfortable. I wouldn't recommend to anybody or stay again.
The price and the location was pleasant. The staff is helpful.

My room wasn’t clean and bathroom also. Was disgusted. Stayed there just 1day and 2 nights. And I won’t recommend this place for anyone also closer was about to fal apart😒
