Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyHotel is located on top of a very steep and winding road. It is a little further away from town than I thought. Decoration in room is really old fashioned. The restaurant was closed and there were no other places to get food nearby (10 minutes by car or 20 minute bus ride back into town).
Really friendly gentlemen works in reception. The breakfast was excellent! Bus from city center stops a short hike from hotel.

MongoliaWould have preferred to have a kettle, cup and some teabags instead of a TV. My room light went black after I checked in, didn’t have the time to fuss about it so I just used my bedside light.
Nice view, good breakfast

United StatesLack of elevator can be a challenge to some. Quite dated bathroom, very small in size and not very functional. Family run property; the two people we met were efficient but not very hospitable. Long faces, lack of eye contact, abrupt and monosillabic answers made us feel like we were bothering them, or like they were doing us a favor to host us there. One smile would have saved the day.
Nice location, just outside the city of Innsbruck with easy public bus connection. Nice terrace to have a drink and rest after a day of sightseeing. In house restaurant with good earthy food and efficient service. Simple but good breakfast.

AustriaIt would have been useful to be offered more information at check-in. I felt a bit like I had to chase the receptionist to ask for information. However he did give me some useful tips. Otherwise the staff was nice. The bus stop it is a 3-5 minute walk uphill. This may not be much but problematic if you have mobility restrictions or a lot of baggage. There is no lift. The breakfast is ok but I couldn’t eat much because there was no gluten-free option. However the hot chocolate is nice. Hairdryer was missing. For 140 Euro a night I think this should have been provided.
Beautiful nature, friendly place to stay. Free travel within Innsbruck. I liked the walk through the forest to town. Rooms were ok.

United StatesNo lift, crooked steps to climb with suitcases, no a/c for summer - at least a ceiling or a table fan would have been helpful. And, the bathrooms are too small

United StatesI was in Innsbruck for a conference which meant that I didn’t spend a lot of time at the property. I didn’t mind that the furniture is not modern or anything, but something broke of in my shower which made me feel like the place is a bit run down and hasn’t been renovated in a while. What bothered me the most though was that the internet wasn’t working properly. Also, there is no lift and no one to help you carry up your (heavy) suitcase.
It’s a really cute place, comfy, and it seems like it is run by a family. I liked that the bus to the hotel ran every 10 minutes (Monday-Friday) and that they are offering 1 bed rooms!

New ZealandThe toilet was separate from the room but I was aware of that so that was fine. No tea and coffee making facilities. This would have been nice, but really it's a great little guesthouse. Really enjoyed my stay
Even though it was a small single room it had everything I needed and the little balcony with such an awesome city view was brilliant. I wasn't expecting that. A nice breakfast every day. Good shower. Comfortable bed and good lighting.

United KingdomThe en-suite shower was extremely cramped and we had great difficulty in getting any hot water. The Wi-Fi kept dropping out and we had to reconnect several times. The breakfast was of average standard.

United KingdomOur overall experience at the hotel was enjoyable, there were a few aspects that we found less than ideal. One notable concern was the absence of an elevator, particularly inconvenient when our room was situated on the 2nd floor. For guests with heavy luggage, the lack of assistance with carrying bags to upper floors could be a drawback. Another consideration pertains to the size of the blankets provided in the rooms. We felt that they were on the smaller side, and an improvement in this aspect could enhance the comfort of guests during their stay. Additionally, we encountered occasional issues with the heating system. It seemed that either the winter weather was particularly harsh or there might have been a fault in the heating equipment. This led to intermittent periods where the room was not as warm as expected.
We enjoyed a wonderful three-night stay at the hotel, immersing ourselves in the true local flavor of Innsbruck. The balcony view was breathtaking, and the breakfast selection was satisfying. The convenience of being just a 10-minute walk from public transport added to the overall experience. However, be mindful of a few considerations. If you have heavy luggage and your room is on the 2nd floor, note that there's no elevator, and assistance with luggage is unavailable. Additionally, the room's blanket size may need improvement and occasional issues with heating were observed, possibly due to intense winter or a malfunctioning heater. Despite these minor points, the guesthouse is more than suitable for a short stay, especially during milder seasons. The exceptional staff members were consistently helpful throughout our visit.

LuxembourgFloor in the room tilted to one side making the bed rather uncomfortable. Thin walls separating rooms with little noise insulation. Floors creak from above creating a noisy environment.
A classic style Tyrolean guest house situated half way up the mountain above Innsbruck. Amazing views over the city and a bus stop a short walk away with a free bus pass if booking for two days or more. An excellent selection for breakfast which was included in the price. Free parking on site was also a big plus.
