Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbor talking and playing on her computer, every move she made. I could even hear the guy snoring across the hallway at 2 am on my last night there. Admittedly, I am a light sleeper but that's a bit ridiculous. The building has poor craftsmanship - not sound proofed in the least.
The decor, front area with the comfy chairs and the easy check in process, the staff was also quite attentive and accommodating. Loved the fact I could get a latte anytime and read/study in the comfy space.

Czech RepublicI had some problems with the fan/air conditioning, which only stopped working when you opened the window and automatically cooled down the room. At night, it was a bit of a problem but didn't bother me too much.
The hotel was located very close to the tram stop and also not far away from the metro. The personnel were kind and helpful. The entire place had a unique design, the room was clean and comfortable. The lobby was a nice place to sit at.

United StatesI arrived late after a long day of travel. The self check in was challenging without my glasses and seems unnecessary. I travel a lot and have never had to do that. Also, the lights should be on or key activated. I entered a dark room with luggage and couldn't get the lights on because there were special instructions and not a key activation. I needed to get my phone out and use the flashlight to read the instructions. After a long day these items irritated me and detracted from my positive feelings about the hotel.
I loved the decor... very unique and appealing. Staff were positive and helpful.

CanadaThe staff during the day isn't as friendly as the night staff. The room we booked was advertised with a large double bed (and on the website with a kingsize bed). On arrival, our bed was a small double bed. There are no amenities in the room. After two nights without sleep, we asked to change rooms as we paid for a room with a bigger bed, they changed the room, but still, it wasn't a big bed. They gave us complimentary breakfast for the last two days. We would never have booked this hotel if it wasn't for their false advertising. Anyway, it's more like a hostel with private room. Nothing hotel-like about this place.
Some of the staff were very nice (mostly the night staff). There's a nice coworking on site.

SlovakiaIn room they were not cups. We didn't have hygiene needs (bathing cap, cotton swabs...) . Recleaning during the stay is charged €1. The elevator on the second floor was not working.
All the staff in the lobby was very pleasant, helpfulness and accommodating, but the the best staff was Emanuel, very friendly and professional. Thanks to him, our stay was a little more pleasant.

AustraliaLack of facilities...no fridge, no glasses, co tea/coffee facilities, no laundry service, no ventilation in the toilets, and the bed was way too soft...
Funky lobby and a "cool" vibe to the place, but at the same time, that has compromised what was offered in my opinion. Mainly the layout of the rooms...funky wooden crate and like a build in wall of shelves, took too much space which could've been used for a little table with tea/coffee facilities and a fridge, which we missed having in a hotel room. No glasses, plates or anything like that either...so that was disappointing. Staff were okay and all, but not enough of them (having to do reception, coffee bar and bar duties at the same time) which made them stressed and cold. Make sure you've some cash, as they'll ask for a 10€ for a parking card. Breakfast was okay, nothing special, but tasty and fresh Location is pretty good

SlovakiaSelfcheckin is stressful both for the receptionists and guests, as a UX designer I didn't understand the placement of it. It was right in front of the receptionist so if you needed to talk to a receptionist and someone was checkin in they were right in your way.
