The rooms and toilets were very clean. There were quite a lot of people to socialise and chill. Overall, the kitchen was very well equipped compared to some other hostels I have stayed in. I really liked the staff as they were really friendly

There was a nice cosy common room with a piano and guitars, and a collection of books, a well equiped kitchen, and breakfast available for reasonable prices. One of the best things was the pay as you like dinner, where volunteers made home cooked meals every night.

The room was very small for couple. No facility of wardrobe, so found it bit difficult to manage all our clothes. No mirrors in the room except for the one in bathroom. The bed was bit hard.

The Location of the Hostel is excellent. Just few mins walk from the Westbahnhof station. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast menu was good, may be bit expensive but taste was really good.

The only thing to improve, in our opinion, is that there is only one bathroom (with joint toilet and shower) for each shared room. Sometimes we had to wait for others to shower or go down to the ground floor to use the toilet (if it was not occupied too)

The hostel staff made us feel at home, helping us with everything we needed. The shared rooms are very good, very spacious, comfortable, and are equipped with closed lockers to store your personal belongings. Cleanliness is excellent. It is a hostel designed for young people and for meeting people, with many common spaces and scheduled activities to meet other guests (which you can attend or not, depending on your plans).

almost everything was fantastic! … the room I got was however not a 10 person room, but a small 4 person room - which is fine too but since it’s small, air gets really bad during the night.. love the kitchen area and the morning coffee. Very very friendly ppl!

Somewhat basic and cramped bathroom, which was however no problem to use.

Very helpful and friendly staff, you can have something printed at the reception. Also,rooms have lockers that open and close with your room card, very helpful and handy to keep luggage or other items safe.

The only things missing were towels, I mean you could ask for them at the reception and I don’t mind necessarily, I just expected them to be in the room. I am not sure if you were supposed to pay for the towels but I didn’t check. Anyway this is nothing major, just something I noticed.

I loved the concept of the hostel. Everything is designed in such way to encourage interaction and comfort. They have a beautiful garden, a nice space to relax, a bar and chicken. They also prepare for you every night dinner at a very decent price and it’s delicious. I met so many great people and the entire vibe was awesome. We really had a blast, I would definitely come back.

The problem was the smell in female dormitories at night that was just horrible. Idk what is it maybe the moisture but i couldn't sleep that much it was really too strong smell which made me sad because everything else was great.

Stuff is super nice and they have a lot of activities in the hostel like going out together, visiting places, dinner nights, they are nice and friendly. The location is bit far from city center but with metro like 15-20 minutes so it's okay. Everything is clean. Showers and toilet clean.

Closing smokers area too early

Please fix the 2nd floor large shower. If multiple guests use it one after the other, water is likely to tip over / leaking (out to the corridor). Must be a recent problem as before non of my friends recommending me this hostel experienced anything similar. Nothing else to criticize.

Thanks to the immense work put into making Ruthensteiner a legendary establishment dating back to the 1960s' the atmosphere and the care for details both in service and decoration elements is worth checking out!

It was a wonderful experience as my first-time solo traveling. Everyone I met was around my age (20-30) and made getting along incredibly easy. I made good friends. I can't wait to go back one day!

Chill and cozy common area, nice vibes in the bar, felt super comfortable and safe, room 15 was the best!

There's a kitchen with free stuff and a really good (paid) breakfast. Free teas at afternoons (although you can make one at any time in the kitchen). The beds were not too noisy, and the bathrooms were clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is close to restaurants and the raimond theatre which had a great show when I was there.

Rooms are very nice and tidy, with a lot of natural light. Bathrooms are clean and have everything you need. Kitchen is organized well and has everything you need for your stay.

A little far from the centre of Vienna (about a 40min walk) but very close to train station

Great facilities, with kitchen, common areas, bar and good dorm rooms. Volunteers also make dinners each night which you can go along to and pay as you wish.

Nothing! One of the best hostels we've stayed at.

We loved this hostel! Great location near the Westbahnhof, easy to get into town via the U-bahn or walking (40 min). Staff super helpfu! Great space to hang out downstairs and a lovely garden when the weather is nice. We had a private room which was clean and comfortably warm in the cold weather. Bathrooms were always clean too and separate showers/toilets. Free locker storage after check out and discount public transport cards were great! We didn't take advantage of the hostel dinner but such a good idea.

The hostel is super cozy and has such a welcoming atmosphere! It has basically everything you could need as a traveler and the location is right near public transportation stops. Plus they have nice big lockers that lock with your key card which was very convenient!

Every morning housekeeper wakes me up by chance cause my room was next to her room.
