How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

not comfortable rooms.
Good location if you are tourist and like to walk, but bare in mind that if you are arriving on Sunday your access to the hotel might be closed until late afternoon.

family friendly, very close to prater. parking was solved by public garage 8€/ day 1 minute by car at prater street. breakfast was average but suite the kids .

not very clean. no soap in the bathroom and there was an open water bottle in the mini fridge when we arrived.

During breakfast you might have had a little wait, which was alright. But i noticed some of the people enjoying breakfast were from outside. Which i get, but then making your own guests wait is a bit weird. I get it, they ask 25 each for outsiders, which wouldnt be worth it. Breakfast was alright! Crowded, Rousy and food / service stations tended to get messy during the stay. Bed is a little short for europeans, from around 1.75 and above. Pillows were mediocre as well.
Staff was always very friendly, always helpful when needed. Rooms were also cleaned well and every day we were provided with new and clean towels and a clean bed. Also a nice surprise during easter weekend Rooms were very quited, well isolated and very well shut of from sounds. 10/10 Bathroom was seperated from toilet, which you dont see too often unfortunately.

our room was having a problem with the entry card , it doesn’t work for all the times , we went to the reception to reactivate it and it doesn’t work as well!

it wasnt clean there is no minibar water in shower changes suddenly to extreme hot while bathing my 2 year old child the extra beds are really bad condition. sleeping on the floor is better not going again there

1. Miserable room: - the bathroom (toilet) with traces of urine and dust all over the toilet bowl, - there were hair in the shower (it was horrible to put the little girl in the shower), - torn papers hidden under the bed (and the beds are high, so you could lightly vacuum under them). I reported this fact to the reception, but in vain, they only changed the sheets on which our little girl had an accident. It is the first time that at a 4-star hotel, we do not find slippers (we did not carry the slippers with us in our luggage), and it is also the first time that we go to a hotel and do not find the cards that are placed on toilet and bathtub/shower cabin, which mention that they have been disinfected. 2. In the restaurant, many chairs that looked like after the war. 3. The playground for children, miserable. 4. Honestly, we got tired of the same breakfast every morning for 5 days. Effectively, the same breakfast. In the last 2 mornings, I only ate fruit. 5. I asked the reception to be told to bring us garbage bags, as we have a baby who wears diapers. On the first day, they brought us 2 garbage bags (you could hide 2 cows in each), then... break. It is inadmissible that we could not have the comfort that we paid for. We were shocked that such a thing is possible at Novotel. We were on our honeymoon and we expected more than decent, but if we had known...I think the Ibis hotel was a better choice. As a conclusion, Vienna is gorgeous (we plan to return in the summer), but we will definitely not stay at Novotel again, at least not in Vienna.
1. We were happy that we had 2 comfortable beds in the room. 2. With the help of the waiters (during the 5 days we were staying), the cooks prepared diet food for our little girl, because she was not feeling well. A big plus for the waiters who were kind and understanding with our little one. 3. The hotel is positioned in a very good location. 4. It was warm in the room, which made us happy.

dirty room. the room was cleaned well only one day. We were in the hotel 6 nights. Some staff were arrogant and didn't wanted to help with problems.
