Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ColombiaI didn’t notice that there were stiff stairs to access the unit when I booked it. I came with my parents who have limited moving capacity and it was a bit of an extra effort to bring everyone’s luggage upstairs. The unit is on sale, the realtor came to visit the place without notice when we were resting. That was a bit uncomfortable too.
Very well located. Comfortable beds.

United KingdomThis is not really an apartment. The accommodation is actually two bedrooms linked by a steep staircase. There is no kitchen, sitting or dining area, just a small table with a kettle for making hot drinks. It is unsuitable for anyone with any mobility issues, or small children. However, if you are aware of this, it can be a very inexpensive, pleasant and convenient place to stay for a few days to explore Bruges. There are bars and restaurants all around and it's only minutes walk to the centre.
Very central, great for exploring Bruges. Immediately overlooking canal along a small quiet lane with no through traffic. Paid Parking was immediately opposite across the canal. Bedrooms were prettily decorated and comfortable

Russia- It is indicated that these are also family apartments. Upon arrival, it turned out that the kitchen was closed to guests and was not intended for use. As a result, we could neither heat nor cook anything for our child and were forced to go to restaurants to feed her, where food is not always intended for small children. Fortunately, we found one such restaurant in Bruges, where the food was ok for a small child. Yeah, the owners will probably say that it is not indicated anywhere that we have a kitchen. But even in hotels they don’t always indicate that there is a bed, but... it’s always there! Likewise, apartments differ from hotels in one important point - they have a kitchen or kitchen corner where you can heat up food! For the first time in 20 years of traveling around the world, I visited an apartment without a kitchen. - Refrigerator is on the 2 second floor in the bath and works horribly To me it's just bedrooms and a bath.
- Excellent location - Clean "apartment" - Contactless check-in, which is very convenient

United KingdomI wish I'd read the reviews a bit better, not that would have necessarily put us off but we might have been less disappointed. It's not an apartment, it's two bedrooms on top of each other and a bathroom. No communal lounge space and no kitchen. There was a coffee machine and a kettle and some crockery etc but nowhere to prepare anything, even a sandwich. There was a mini-fridge, upstairs in the bathroom. One of the bedrooms contains the door to the apartment so to leave you have to go in and out through one of the bedrooms. To get into the place itself and to get from bedroom 1 to bedrooms 2 and the bathroom there are steep, polished wooden stairs. These are pretty dangerous. When you arrive there's a note in the hallway asking you to not wear shoes and to change into slippers to protect the wood. fair enough, except they only left three slippers (not three pairs, three slippers total) and in stocking feet you were taking your life in your hands. Thankfully my posterior was padded well enough that I only sustained a handful of massive bruises and no broken bones. The main reason I chose this place was the lovely looking bathroom in the photos, a nice bath after a long day of walking is a fave holiday pleasures (would have been doubly so considering my bruised backside). So it was a bit of a disappointment to find that although there was a bath it was pretty clear you weren't to use it. No taps, notices and messages saying to use as little water as possible and weird jerry-rigged shower "doors" balanced on the sides that were clearly meant for a different set up. The back of the toilet was off leaving exposed and dirty looking workings and wall, plus the mini-fridge gave the whole bathroom a bit of a cowboy-builder vibe.
The location was great. Close to town and some nice bars but also quiet and relaxed. Nearby supermarket. Beds were comfy and the place was cosy. It was very clean. The dressing table was a nice touch. Two sets of keys was appreciated as we were a couple and a friend.

United KingdomVery misleading description. Not very clean. Unresponsive owner. Very minimal toiletries (tiny soap container and 1 TP roll for 4 people for 5 days! No hand soap or hand towels. Broken light in the bathroom the entire week.) Despite the “24-hr front desk” this is not a hotel. It is not even good enough for Airbnb… It’s a self-service, self-supplied tiny cramped 2 rooms, that would even be crowded with only 2 people!
Only good thing was the location…

No warning of steep stairs. Two of the windows were cracked. For sale sign stuck to another blocking view. In someone else’s house and felt very unsecure. We tried to move but couldn’t find alternative accommodation. Really disappointing.

GreeceVery disappointing facilities and staff, unwilling to help with the issues we faced. First of all, if you need your privacy, get prepared that you need to cross one of the bedrooms to get in and out of the property, which is not obvious in the images or mentioned in the description. Also, while there was a last-minute issue with the main toilet, for which we were informed 2 days before our arrival, every time our friends wanted to visit the secondary toilet in the ground floor, they had to cross our bedroom; very uncomfortable and irritating for all of us and we were not informed about this, even if we asked for a full description of the secondary toilet prior to our stay. In addition, we informed them the first evening that the heating was not working properly, making the rooms a bit chilly, while outside it was -5 celsius. They said they would check the system after we check out. Finally, we forgot a jacket on the closet, we informed the owner the very next morning of our departure, saying that we could get back to Bruges and contact them or next guests to get the clothes, but they said they could not do anything before the next guests check-out. After lots of calls and messages via Booking, they said that they need to have the cleaning service visit the property (didn't they clean the room after we had left? and if so, how come didn't they find the clothes?), and finally, after a week of delays and various excuses, they said they did not find anything, so the clothes got lost. Not to mentioned that we had to push for the little refund that they had already offered for the toilet issue, because they did not recognise any of the rest issues. It took a week of pressure and calls.
The only thing we liked was the location. It's very close to the centre and all the sightseeing of the city. Also, the view is good, in front of a canal, in a quiet neighbourhood.
