Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaWe couldn't get the safe in the room to work The bathroom window overlooked the neighbours and we worried they could see in
The room was very spacious and clean with a large, comfortable bed. The location of the hotel is a short walk to the city center, however, in a quiet neighbourhood which was great. The breakfast included was also very good.

United KingdomOverall the rooms and areas were clean, though closer attention could be on cleaning the less touched areas of a room.
Good location. Breakfast was excellent quality with many options. Staff were friendly and accommodating! Felt it was good value for money for 4 people!

United KingdomWe didn’t much like the paper cups provided for tea/coffee in the room and would have preferred proper cups. Also milk portions instead of powdered creamer sachets, but only a minor negative. When making the booking we we were told we couldn’t check in late as nobody on reception up to 10pm. We subsequently changed our Eurostar booking to an earlier train to avoid any problem. However during our stay there was always somebody on reception during those hours so that messaging was a little confusing!
Great location, in a peaceful historic part of town only 10 minute walk into the centre. Very good breakfast selection served across a generous window 8-10. Lovely spacious room and very comfortable bed. We paid a bit more for a superior room. Friendly staff. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel after checking out to spend our final day in Bruges.

FranceParking is an issue. Even if you need to park for a few minutes, you need to make sure you have a 10 cent change as the machine doesnt accept any other. Not the fault of the hotel, but just keep in mind .
Excellent location. We spent only a night. The hotel adviced to park in a nearby place which is a 10 min walk.

AustraliaHeater was very precariously placed on bathroom wall, almost looked like it was hanging off
This was in a great spot, a short walk to the centre of Brugge. The streets around the hotel were quiet and felt very safe as well night and day. It’s a short bus ride from bus stop 2mins walk from Brugge to get back to main station. Nice breakfast. It was a very clean room with heater in bathroom.

United KingdomOur rooms were not next to each other as we had asked. Both rooms were cramped. The wardrobe was not big enough for two people's clothes. In fact, there were just 4 coat hangers in our wardrobe! The shower room was small. The shower door did not shut flush. Consequently, a lot of water escaped from the shower unit onto the shower room floor. As a result, the small wooden step at the base of the shower room door was rotten! Not a good look. We had to improvise and use a small shampoo tube to wedge the shower door in place. The bean-to-cup coffee machine in the breakfast area was not working properly and so did not offer fully caffeinated coffee. Only decaf was available. Not good! I had to resort to buying a proper coffee on the way in to the centre.
The best aspect of this hotel was the breakfast. It was very good. The location was about ten minutes walk from the centre square of Bruges so not too bad but we would have preferred something closer. The ground floor reception, bar and breakfast area were nicely appointed.

GreeceWe had a quadruple room for a family of four, and it was definitely big enough for us to stay there comfortably. Some reviews say the rooms are small but we had a large enough space for us as a family and were happy with the room size. It was warm, clean and comfortable with helpful, pleasant staff. We were able to check in early and that made a big difference to us, and was a great start for our trip to Bruges. Also, all areas of the hotel were clean and we'll-maintained, not just our room.

NetherlandsThe hotel room decor is a little dated, but it does not remove to the experience or the comfort. Everything else compensates for that.
The family room was very roomy and comfortable. There were two rooms so there was a possibility to have some privacy. Bathroom was comfortable, everything you need for a pleasant stay was in place. Location was very good. Is a simple hotel, but value for money, comfort, cleanness and location are good.

United KingdomA few hair found on tiles in the bathroom. Second day of our stay they didn't make the bed/bedroom. Everywhere else was clean and perfect.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great location and quite area at night, very close to the bus stop, well connected with the city centre and the station, small walking distance to the city centre. Hotel was clean and bed was very comfortable, warm bedroom, breakfast was excellent but small choice. Very nice hotel, we will book again if we will come back to Bruges.

United KingdomThe walls and floors/ceilings are very thin with little soundproofing (to be expected in the old buildings). Unfortunately an with some noisy neighbours above but no fault of the hotels.
Lovely hotel in a nice quiet location just outside the busy areas but only a 10/15 walk (with young kids) to the centre. The decor was great. The family room with adjoining room was perfect for us with plenty of space for 4. Breakfast was great, loads of choice and availability. Staff were excellent, always friendly and happy to help.
