How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The USB ports for charging in my bunk didn’t work.
Very friendly and clean with events happening for logers everyday! Loved the convenient location too. The beds were really comfortable with privacy curtains and the shower and toilet facilities were really clean.

Luggage storage a bit expensive. For external people ok but for guests this is normally cheaper or even free (if they leave the same day)
Beautiful hostel with good beds (with curtains!), clean toilets/showers, friendly staff and cool evening program for the guests

Cleanliness of the forks and spoons for breakfast, I think it’s just washed with water not soap - also reach of the wifi to the rooms on the fifth floor

Everything was perfect, but they could improve the cleaning in the bedrooms and add mor ventilation to the shower. Apart from that its one of the best hostels i’ve been!
The beds had curtains so its very private. The breakfast is really good, and the staff are lovely.

Shower enclosure could use a shower bench to put change of clothes or other shower necessities. There’s really nothing in there to put your personal items on. The family room was spacious but could use a chair and small table.

Only 2/4 beds in the dorms had curtains. Why? I don’t understand at all. The bed pods also don’t go all the ceiling, so they let in light from the adjacent bed if you are on the top. So it’s more like having a normal bunk than a nice pod with curtains which it seemed from the photos. The only sink is also in the main area of the room, which is loud when people need to brush their teeth or wash their hands after coming in late
Nice location. Nice staff. Nice room. There are even activities available. I had the best beer tasting ever arranged through the hostel!

The wifi did not connect in the room I was staying in and the dormitory bed I had did not have a privacy curtain.. Luckily I was only staying for one night so this wasn't a problem, but had my stay been longer I think this would have become frustrating.
It was my second time staying at one of the Le Troupe branches and this one did not disappoint! The location was perfect, the hostel was clean and neat and I loved the similarities to the Bilbao branch, it made me feel right at home!

When entering the building we perceived a humidity smell that was persistent across the entire place. Nothing too extreme but still, it was the only thing that bothered us a bit.
The location was amazing, the staff was really kind and they spoke many languages, and the breakfast. Lovely, clean cutlery and everything.

My room was quite warm but it was bearable and the ensuite shower sometimes had a weird smell.
Definitely felt like a hotel! I had the breakfast once and thought it had a large selection.

the wifi didn't work in my room so I had to stay in the dining area to use my pc.
Great location, great breakfast and staff. I slept in a 6 people dorm, a little bit small for 6 people but everything worked well. The WC is separated from the shower which is good. The bed had a curtain which was a plus. Good air-conditioned in the room. The rent service of lockers was very useful

Great location, close to shops, pubs, clubs and the city centre! The staff was amazing and very helpful, they really made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I was a bit nervous since it was my first time traveling by myself, but everything was absolutely wonderful! Will be coming back for sure!
