Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBetween 5:30-7:30am, there are two man knocked the door of the entire floor and swiped the card trying to break in! Every ten minutes they did the same thing! Me and my friend are terrified and in the noon we told the staff what happened in the early morning, the staff said because they were drunk and one of their group friends was staying in our floor which doesn’t make any sense because they did every! Ten! Minutes! In the end of the conversation, the staff even tried to blame me and my friend did not inform them at that time!

AustraliaWifi did not reach the 5th floor where my room was. Hostel was in a good location to walk anywhere however I didn’t feel the safest on the street immediately outside - lots of lingering men, catcalling etc. Not fault of the hostel but worth noting for solo female traveler’s

Australiathe water pressure in the shower was a dribble and took 3 mins to heat up. the shower was also in the room with no real privacy because it is so tiny and therefore was also kind of gross. the breakfast wasn’t vegan friendly. and some of the activities they organised were just happy hours so you spend money at the bar but made it hard to make friends.
clean and friendly, they attempted something social for people in the hostel most days. beds had curtains. good location in walking distance to most things

United KingdomPaying extra for towels is a bit much these days. Also while the free WiFi worked well downstairs up on the 6th floor it was nonexistent. I stayed in a shared room which was fine but the lockers were slightly too small for a rucksack and the whole room smelled of blocked drains.
If you really must go to Brussels then this place is very well placed. Take the metro line 3 or 4 from gare du Nord or gare du midi to the bourse stop and the hostel is very close. The staff were great and helpful even when I checked in at 11 pm

Australiathe showers were terrible: roof looked as though it would cave in from all the mould, all the water came from one hole which was very unpleasant. reception area had a strange smell of poop most of the time. apparently it’s soundproof but it absolutely is not, could hear everything going on in the dorms nearby. the washing machine was also disgusting and full of sludge and hair alike.
the staff were wonderful and the location was perfect.

ItalyHonestly I didn't like the fact that you need to pay extra to storage your bag if you arrive before the check in time. I understand that they offer the storage services but if you are a host of the hotel I don't see why they will ask you to pay for that service. In addition, the hotel is not really new, it has some years so you can see some imperfections in the building. For sure a better cleaning could help to give back some fresh and clean look.
The location. It was close enough to everywhere by walking.

Hong KongWe lived there in a private room for 3 nights, there was no room cleaning at all. They didn't specify when we booked the room. We wouldn't have stayed here if we knew there would be no cleaning. We were also not provided with any change of towels and toilet papers... We paid hotel price for this private room and it's poor value for money.

DenmarkThere was strong smell of humidity and leaks in the reception. We have made checkin online in and pay in advance, but room was ready at 15, we arrived at 10. Directions to visit EU Parlament were incorrect, we lost time because of that.
Most of staff is open to help and friendly. Breakfast is good enough, variations of food. There are games/activities organized each day, we didnt attend but it is worth mentioning.

United KingdomAlthough advertised as air conditioning, the hotel really doesn’t use this system. they have some kind of air recycling that doesn’t provide the right setting. The rooms also don’t have a window that opens so you rely on this air recycling process to circulate air, problem is it doesn’t really work, so rooms are hot and feel stuffy. if you’re prone to allergies (like I am) this will be terrible for you!
The location was excellent and staff very nice and helpful, the hotel has also a cool vibe and has many activities and options to enjoy inside the facilities.

SwitzerlandOnly lacking was the hair dryer. No towels as well. Quite on the expensive side, but the other options in brussels were more expensive.
Good location, close to the grand place. Breakfast was quite good, totally worth it. Beds came done, with curtains which is always a good addition. Shower with consumables. They had also happy hour during evenings offering a free beer and a get together with the other guests.

BulgariaThe room was really small+ it was also very loud. It smelled like in a public toilet in the meeting area, where you were supposed to have breakfast + bare minimum of hygiene when it comes to tables etc. The girls from the reception desk responded very slowly to any requests. Generally it seems like a place for young people who don't mind to pay lots of money without expecting to get any good quality. I would not recommend this place.
We liked just the location, because it really was in the city center and near most of the tourist attractions.
