Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt looks very nice in the photo. Reality is slightly different, but I can't complain. It's not the cleanest place i stayed also, but overall is good and comfortable.
Lovely apartment in the city, around 20-25 min walk to grand place. It had everything we needed for the pleasant stay. Easy check in and out. Codes sometimes dont work, but you can open any door from the app. Parking on the street for a day around 23€ so aint bad.

ItalyA few minor repairs should be done, like the bathroom doorknob or the paper holder. Not related to the apartment but this part of the city is kinda a bad neighbourhood.
Clean and elegant, keyless entry, has everything you need, close to public transport and in walking distance from city center. Very nice mobile app with all the info about the apartment.

NetherlandsReally dirty and many things broken and of cheap quality. We know renting apartments is a business but it should definitely be proper, especially as we paid around €175,- per night. We used “outer-socks” around our socks to keep our feet clean and proper. No proper cleaning tools in the apartment. When asking for an extra blanket there was no option. Almost all shelves in the apartment are empty, as mentioned hardly tools. Pictures of the apartment are correct in the advertisement, but show a “new” and “clean” apartment, which was definitely not as such.
Location I assume.

MaltaCustomer service: Although in the description of the facilities provided a hair dryer was included, when I tried to find it it was not available or very well hidden. I contacted the apartment and initially they answered that it was in the apartment. when I contacted them again twice as I could not find it they never answered back. Cleanliness: While trying to find the hair dryer I opened the oven and found a dirty pan with food remains inside that was never washed. Area: The area is not the safest one in Brussels and they gave me the apartment on the ground floor. It did not feel very safe. Noise: Next to the building there is an African restaurant that stays open until late, if you are in the ground floor apartment you can hear all the discussions and the music through the wall.
The apartment is quite spacious.

United KingdomI would have preferred a softer pillow, but that's just a personal preference. Coffee was great, but missed the milk. The space in the separate WC on the lower level is quite small, but there is always the other bathroom that can be used so not really an issue😊 Bedside lamps/or at least one lamp per room would have been great to have, but not essential 😊
Lovely spacious apartment with minimalist decor, well equipped and furnished. Although the apartment is not in the nicest area of Brussels it is close to train station (6-7 min walk) which was very important to us. We travelled as two families with two small children( aged 2 and 3). The children had a lot of space in the living room to play and run around (not sure if the guests - if there were any - in the below apartment appreciate it though). The whole building consists of 4 apartments, all belonging to Smart Appart. Our Duplex was on the 3rd floor (top floor), easily accessed by elevator. The duplex has 3 rooms on 2 levels( living room, open space kitchen, one en suite double bedroom with walk-in shower and separate WC on one level; 2 rooms with ensuite bathroom with bath tub and WC on the next level, both rooms having separate but direct access to the same bathroom. Self check in went smooth and it was very straight forward. Got all the needed information in time via text and email too. We spent here just one night and had no issues, so we did not need to contact the person in charge of the apartment, but from getting all the information so promptly and on time I am sure we would have got effective assistance. Loved the fact that all worked with a code and did not had to use/carry around any keys. WiFi was excellent.

United Arab EmiratesThe location of the property is in a seemingly shady part of town. That was the only concern. Also for summer months I would suggest having standing fans available for the rooms so its easier to go to sleep at night.
The property itself is well furnished and well equipped. Check in was very easy. All facilities were available.

Egypt- check in experience is a little bit confusing, it is not hard but you should read the instructions mail very carefully. - the shared bathroom in the upstairs between the two rooms was something new to us, the bathroom has two doors so you need to close the other door when you are going to use the bathroom,
We had a wonderful vacation at the apartment in Brussels. - The apartment was as described in the photos, and maybe even better. - The apartment was located in a very good location with a lot of grocery stores and restaurants around, just a 5-minute walk from the Clemenceau metro station and a 10-minute walk from the Brussels-South railway station. - The apartment was very clean, and everything was working as it should. The elevator inside the apartment was an exciting and unique experience. - The customer service was excellent, and our questions were answered quickly and kindly. - The customer service sent us a thank-you email as soon as we left, expressing their gratitude for us keeping the apartment clean, which left a good impression on us. - The internet was very fast and covered all parts of the apartment, including the upper floors. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation at the apartment in Brussels, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and comfortable place to stay in with a big family.

United KingdomThe apartment is next door to a lively restaurant (more akin to a nightclub) that plays loud music until 2am. Fine if you don't want to sleep until then, otherwise: avoid!

RomaniaFirst of all, the code at the entrance of the building worked, but the one from the apartment was not functional, which is why I stayed 40 minutes at the door of the apartment. Miraculously the apartament door opened with that same code just shortly after I had contacted the landlord. I found the apartment very dirty, you can see it in the picture. Breadcrumbs and hair on the sofa. The kettle and the pots weren't cleaned properly. The carpets were filthy, full of mud and hair, as well as the floor of the apartment. The cleaning lady was overwhelmed and my husband had to vacuum the whole apartment. I cleaned the refrigerator, dishes, sinks, vacuumed and wiped the sofa, as well as the drawers in the bathroom which were full of dust and hair. We also cleaned the shower cabin, you will find two pictures of it, before and after it was cleaned by us, the guests of the apartment, those who paid 850 euros for this accommodation. I have to mention the awful noise from the restaurant next door, which persisted until late at night (2-3 a.m.) No lamps for the bedrooms, it's the first apartment without lamps in the bedrooms I've ever stayed in! No soap in the bathrooms. Bad neighborhood, not safe, garbage bags everywhere,, bad smell, overall a bad experience.
Large apartment. Not far from city centre. Very close to Midi/Zuid station. Unfortunately, I don't have good things to say about this accommodation.
