It was quite difficult to communicate, as no one seemed to speak even basic English. This led to confusion with our order and uncertainty about what we owed. It made the overall experience more stressful than it should have been.

Sandi Hotel is a truly exceptional property in the heart of Paraty. Set in a beautifully preserved historic building, it effortlessly combines colonial charm with modern comfort. This really is an exceptional hotel; feels small and homely but with plenty of space, a great bar and two affiliated restaurants both serving amazing food. The staff were wonderful, always very friendly and happy to help. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the lovely Paraty historical centre. I have travelled a lot and this is definitely up there as one of my favourite hotels!

I have found the room not at all comfortable and especially the bathroom that is equipped with useless fixed wall shower that does not allow proper body showering. The location, although attractive at the first sight is very inconvenient. It is impossible to bring the luggage all the way to the hotel because of the specific street pavement and a one wheel cart has to be used for that purpose. Again, some will find it interesting, but I found it annoying because you depend on the weather conditions and also on the coordination between the reception and the parking bay located next to the last street that that is permitted for a motor powered vehicles. If I only knew I would have definitely booked a hotel outside of the historic area.

The property is a good deal for those who enjoy historic buildings located in the heart of the historic towns as it is the case with Sandi Hotel. It is impossible to find a better place in the entire area of the historic town of Paraty and in general in the majority of other UNESCO protected areas. The staff is really welcoming and helpful. They helped us find good tour deals and we really enjoyed our time. There is a small garden located within the property as well as the restaurant and several other facilities. The area around the hotel is lively and full of charm, so those who like places of this kind will definitely enjoy their time.

I like everything.

It was the most incredible experience! The hotel facilities, the bedroom was so comfortable and all the amenities were incredible- pools, jacuzzis, restaurants, special discounts and drinks. Also the best breakfast I had in my life, with locally sourced produce, bread and cakes baked in house.

Unfortunately I had a problem regarding a transfer form Paraty to Sau Paulo . The guy at the reception was not interested in helping he said I had not paid and was rather rude . I eventually got my Brazilian friend to talk to him and show that I had paid . Eventually everything was sorted out and I had paid but he was rather angry with me instead of sorting it out together.

Front desk was not at the same level. There were no medical assistance ( I got intoxicated). The room was smaller than expected.

On one rainy day, our room had a water leak and thankfully the hotel was able to move us to another room.

I did not like the shower, since it accumulates water on the floor. I compared my bathroom to the bathroom of my kids on suite (101/103) and found out that they had a nicer/more modern bathroom.
