How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Was not impressed due to the frequent power cut which led to less water pressure to no water at all, and I suggest power backup installation to avoid such inconveniences in future. But all in all everything else was just satisfying not forgetting the aircondutioning,I was always looking forward to getting back to my room to have full access to the air conditioning😍
Breakfast was superb, stuff Soo friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Sunbirds Chobe Hotel in Botswana. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff, who were so friendly and attentive. The hotel itself is lovely – clean, cosy, and surrounded by beautiful nature. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved waking up to the sounds of birds in the morning. The food was fantastic! Every meal was fresh and delicious, and the staff made sure we were happy with everything. The location was perfect for exploring Chobe National Park, where we took a game drive and a river safari. We really appreciated the personal touches, like the staff checking in to see if we needed anything and sharing local tips. It’s clear they take pride in what they do. We would highly recommend Sunbirds Chobe to anyone visiting this area. It’s the perfect mix of comfort, great service, and a connection to nature. We’ll definitely come back if we’re in Botswana again! Thank you for making our stay so memorable

Breakfast was good. Nice selection of cereals, yoghurt and dried fruits. Option to order hot eggs of choice with bacon, sausage, mushroom. Staff friendly and helpful with organizing river cruise and game drive. Lovely gardens and two nice swimming pools.

Location but once inside the compound the grounds, pools, buildings were exceptional with lots of flowering plants and beautiful birds.

Beautiful boutique hotel with an enchanting garden. Delicious buffet breakfast facing the swimming pool. And very caring staff who will take care of booking your excursions in Chobe. I highly recommend this little paradise.

Nothing. The staff were lovely and this hotel is great value for money as are the excursions. Dinner was a bit basic but freshly prepared and again food value for money,
The breakfast were simple but fine. Yoghurt and fresh fruit followed by freshly prepared eggs and bacon.

The room area's wifi wasn't working, but because I had my own router, I wasn't too concerned.
The property has adequate security and was well-kept. The employees were constantly eager to assist. Due to the early morning game drive, we missed breakfast, but they still gave us something special. There is a smart TV and decent air conditioning in the room. Gorgeous gardens with immaculate swimming pools.

Hotel is under renovation, our room smelled like paint and could use some fixing up here and there. Organisation is a little hectic in general (no reception, tours not super clear). However the staff is very friendly and helpful so think this will be better when their new part with reception is finished :)
Very big room, nice garden and swimming pool (biggest pool we had during our stay in Africa).

Beautiful garden setting, big and well-equipped apartment, great location for game drives (15’ to the reserve). We would also recommend organising an excursion with the hotel - the one we did was one of the best ones of the whole trip, with an excellent guide.

A sink in unit 4 in the kitchen would be great as we had to fill up the kettle in the bathroom.

A bit expensive and a bit outside of where most hotels and restaurants are. The bed could be more comfortable. Bring your own mosquito net.

Our four night stay was super enjoyable. Large bedroom, bathroom and living room plus outdoor garden patio in its very private garden. (only few rooms have this feature) Staff and owner are warm, willing and more than helpful. There are three separate small building areas and two pools. The breakfasts were excellent and you order what you want instead of a buffet. Other meals are not currently worthwhile so plan to eat dinner and/or lunch in town or have delivery. It is located only few minutes from Zimbabwe border crossing so this speeds up a day trip visit to Victoria Falls. Extensive gardens within complex with several quiet areas to sit and read or enjoy the sun would certainly stay again.

The options at the bar were limited.
The hotel staff were very friendly and always gracious. Breakfast included fruits, cereals, yogurt and your choice of hot breakfast. The gardens and pools were lovely and provided a really relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful birds flittered around the garden including two species of beautiful sunbirds. The staff serenaded us as we left. It was delightful.

The dinner is available only if there are enough guests, otherwise they are happy to help you order food from Nandos etc.
The garden area is very big and well kept, the rooms are nice and very spacious.

This hotel is a little paradise when you’ve driven into the gardens and lovely pool and seating . Boa was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions. She also arranged our trips for a good price and made sure it was all on schedule. Can’t fault the staff , they were all helpful and friendly.
