Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceIt was hot, unimaginably hot, I was melting in there. Also so much noise from the surroundings.Beds were tough and uncomfortable, the bed linen were clean ok there but inside the duvet and pillow were dirty, smelly and gave me allergy cough because of dust mites. Duck feather pillows and duck feather duvets are not recommended for hotels! Duvet was brown with stains of usage inside the otherwise clean duvet cover. Yak! There were no people around, except the cleaners. Automatic check in all by yourself, and check out. There was nowhere to safekeep your luggage. Check out was extremely early and even when I wrote an email and they accepted to offer me late check out at 12, they did not inform the poor cleaners who were banging at my door at 10:30 and also the room door locked me out automatically at 10.00 despite the arrangement for late check out, thank got the cleaner let me in and I managed to pack my suitcases before 12. There was no lobby, no waiting area for travellers. If you have a late flight like me and my son tough, you have to get your suitcases and take the train and wait at the airport. Generally no facilities of a hotel. You just rent an expensive bed to sleep in, god forbid if you need any hotel facilities. This should not bear the name of a hotel. Especially at this price!
Nothing. only the friendly cleaners who were doing an excellent job. Bed linen and towels were clean. Breakfast was ok but not something extraordinary.

GreeceNo AC, the Wi-Fi was bad, the brakfast was horrid, the check-in experience dubious (you are simpy faced with a self-check-in system with no instructions), I asked for an ironing board and there was none, there were no clothing hanglers in the closet. Really, what is the pointof having a closet if you can;t PUT ANYTHING IN IT???????????????????
The location was convenient, although not pleasant

FranceI knew there would be no welcoming staff at the reception, but one does miss a friendly greeting after all. Even if the whole automatic checkin process is working fine.
I enjoyed the excellent location of this hotel which is close to the transportation and close to the beautiful and picturesque city. The room was large and clean, the wifi allowed me to work a day and have video conferences. The bed was confortable. I traveled there in the spring and had therefore no issues with noise or temperature as I read in previous ratings. Indeed I was pleased with my choice.

United KingdomIn case of problems with check-in You need to make a call and spend around ten minutes on the phone, and considering it's swiss number, which is outside EU it costs a lot. So You could implement an option to connect with support through the desk stand or just provide a phone in the check-in stand.
Very basic. Only cold food served.

GermanySelf check-in was ok but I didn't get a receipt, neither via email nor in print. The elevator was really weird and the room doors looked like prison cell doors. The room was too warm and there was no way to adjust the temperature. The pillows were too soft.
Location was good, directly at the train station. Breakfast was ok, but could have used more cheese options. Bed was reasonably sized and comfortable enough.

NetherlandsWe have stayed in this hotel many times in the past (before COVID and when staff were still present at the reception) and it was always a pleasant hotel with good facilities and a good breakfast. However, it has changed for the absolute worse since it became a self-check in hotel. The self-check in didn't work seamlessly, giving errors so that I couldn't get the key cards. After 3 attempts (and multiple payments which were then refunded), I finally had to call a number for help and go through the whole process again on the phone. This was extra phone charges for me since I'm not from Switzerland. And you have to remember the room number which is shown only briefly on the screen because you won't find this info anywhere again. Also, there are no more facilities (fridge, hot water kettle, glasses/cups to drink from, toiletries) present in the room like before. Breakfast has now become very poor with extremely limited choice, and everything was cold (even the coffee/tea from the machine). Key cards to enter the room stopped working often. The entire hallway of the floor where our room was, stank of urine, and the hallway carpet was old with dirty stains. The whole hotel looks very dull and rundown now. The only thing that hasn't seemed to change, is the price...I think the rooms are even more expensive now, but you don't get any value at all for your money anymore.
Spacious room and bathroom. Convenient location very close to train station.

United StatesWhen I ran out of soap/shampoo in the shower, it took three calls to the staff to resolve the situation. The hotel is listed on Booking.com as having available parking, although they have no deal with the nearby parking facility. I was unable to get a receipt from the automated machine upon check-out.
The hotel is very centrally located to the Old Town. The automated check-in was extremely simple to use.

SpainThe area could be a bit noisy, but that's central and if you close the curtains, then it's all fine
Very central, friendly staff at breakfast and the bar at the main entrance, I needed some hot water for a tea and they served it to me without extra charge. At breakfast the lady was very welcoming and friendly. The check-in machine was working and very easy to make the check-in as I was very tired with a bad flu. Definitely recommend it for the price.

Switzerland- Self check-in…. - no aircon (or we couldn’t find it), so the window had to be kept open, with attendant noise from the station area.
- Good basic breakfast - who needs more? Good coffee. Fresh and clean. - The location, of course.
