There was a lingering smell of fried food outside and inside the hotel, including in the rooms.

Location is excellent, in the heart of the town, the room was very clean, very quiet. The breakfast was adequate, it had everything we wanted. I must commend the staff who went out of their way to help us and made sure we were comfortable.

The location is a few steps away from restaurants, shops and grocery. They offer airport shuttle service (surcharge) and they have complimentary drinks (beer, soda, water)provided in the fridge of your room. Also complimentary coffee & tea at the reception.

Nice bathroom with bathtub! Room was facing the garden which was good and quiet. Drinks in mini-bar included which was nice. Central location and close to the theatre as we came for 1 night only.

Noise and cigarette smoke coming from the street downstairs until 6am on Sunday. To be fair, It’s out of the hotel hands/control and they provide ear plugs which i used on that night. Admittedly, the Friday evening was much quieter and this shouldn’t stop you booking this hotel. Just be aware that you are in the entertainment quarter.

Location is unbetable. The staff was lovely and efficient. I loved the unlimited coffee and Tea on the ground floor and the lift to access the rooms. The free mini bar was a great surprise. The double room was perfect for me and my large suitcase.

I think there was a misunderstanding about the room sizes. According to the photos, they looked large. But in reality, there were quite tiny! One could only use the room for sleeping-in and refreshing oneself.

Breakfast was very good. There were many people but they kept re-filling the dishes. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The rooms were very small, but they had a miniature version of everything - a wardrobe, a desk, bathroom with shower, a safe. One could not fault anything except the size.

Great location, close to the main train station. In a busy street with many different restaurants, but the room has a soundproof window and we dind't hear a thing. The breakfast was also great. The staff is very friendly.

Pillows were very flat

Location was amazing, staff gave us adaptors and hotspots for our travels which we have never seen a hotel do before. Windows were great at stopping the noise from outside coming in.

It was hot so we had the window opened but the street noise was a bit much. Not the hotel's fault. No air-con or fan but not a major problem.

Breakfast was very good with gluten free bread provided. Great location in old town. We've stayed at the Alexander several times & always good. We were late arriving because our luggage was lost. I contacted them by text nsg & they would have organised for key pick-up if we arrived after 2pm but we arrived at midnight instead of 10pm & we were welcomed & in our rooms asap.

It's in the city center, door to door to all the restaurants and coffee shops. The staff are the best I've came across in whole my life, visited hotels world wide, none compare to the Hospitality of this staff. Marc, the receptionist, left his desk and went to the main street just to help me park my car and bring my luggage in. Can't thank him enough.. wish them the Best

Hotel Alexander has a perfect location two tram stops or 10 minutes from Zurich HB. Room was small but functional and having all that was needed. The best aspects for me was AC and minibar with first fill for free. Room had desk suitable for work and with plugins for CH, EU and US if I remember well, so no worries if you have non CH end. TV had decent selection of German and English channels. In my opinion hotel Alexander is excellent starting point to visit Zurich and places nearby for solo travelers. I definitely plan to come back if need to stay in Zurich for one night.

The only thing that could have been improved was the shower head. It was one of the hand held kind that fit in a bracket, but the bracket would kept sliding down the rod, so the spray hit about waist height.

The location was perfect - at the end of a street (Niederdorfstrasse) with lots of restaurants and shops and easy walking distance to most of downtown. The room was clean and comfortable. We were on the side of the hotel overlooking a private plaza, so the room was quiet at night, but had a nice breeze with the windows open. There were many options at breakfast, including made to order omelets. The food was fresh and there were choices for most dietary restrictions.
