How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

nice hotel , in the center of Zurich, small enough but very clean, stayed there 1 night and it was fully ok...very friendly stuff. there is parking but not in the same hotel and y should go there on foot ( a little bit complicated to put your car inside the lift, like the container lift, and go-down). seems to me the concierge was a bit "proud" of himself. it is my opinion! otherwise was all good even breakfast!

A bit noisy on Saturday night Reception staff were ok but the breakfast staff not nice, food was not great and my take away breakfast for my early leave was appallingly bad and showed no care or thought at all.

Nothing could be better.
Perfect location in the very heart of Zurich downtown. 10 minutes walk from the lake, 10 minutes walk from Kunsthaus, 6 minutes walk to the rail station and National Museum. Absolutely perfect breakfast. the best one we had in Zurich. Free mini-bar and coffee! Very friendly and helpful stuff. Comfortable room and nice bathroom. Everything was perfect.

Location, cleanliness, modern room, shower gets hot right away, TV was easy to use, mini-fridge included. Friendly staff, breakfast was also good. Location is surrounded by restaurants and walking distance to the main train station and tram stops.

The warm welcome received on arrival set a positive tone and assistance with luggage before check-in was very convenient. The hotel's facilities were top-notch and breakfast was lovely. Additionally, the free entrance to Zurich Kunsthaus was a pleasant surprise, enhancing the overall experience. Location is excellent with everything you need within walking distance. Highly recommend.

Nothing - everything was great!
Great location - only about 5mins walk from Zurich HB, and great location within the city to see all the sights. My room was lovely, nice view, bathroom and everything else was perfect. There’s a safe and minibar, water in the minibar was definitely free, although possibly everything in it was. Mini toblerones left on the pillow was a lovely touch. International power sockets in case you don’t have a Swiss plug. The woman who checked me in and worked on reception (I didn’t catch her name) was so kind, welcoming and ready to help with anything, thank you to her! You can leave your bags after checking in. Breakfast included and has a good selection - yoghurt, hot eggs, bacon etc. and more. Really would recommend staying here, lovely place!

In the room, the light was very poor for makeup & reading. Breakfast was good, but the same meals every day got tired to see or eat. The.purple dish was woeful taste.

- Great atmosphere at the Christmas markets and must be visited. The Hotel Alexander is located right at the start of a Christmas market. - All the sights can be discovered on foot. - Very close to the railway station - The windows are very well soundproofed and slept very quietly. - Breakfast with regional products. Super scrambled eggs and homemade Bircher muesli - The best prices always directly at the hotel and not at OTA - This is not just a promise at Hotel Alexander like at other hotels. - Very friendly and professional staff - There are many delicious restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. Received many good insider tips at reception - Free entry to the Imagine Picasso exhibition - Free entry to the Kunsthaus and zoo - Free minibar - Free mobile hotspots - Enthusiastic about the super fast WLAN

It would be prefect to provide in room slipper.
I enjoyed very much during my stay at this hotel. The location is not really near the main station but it is easy to walk without luggage about 10-15 mins. We reached Zurich by train and took a tram no4 to hotel. The check-in is easy and the lady at counter is the one of the friendliest service staff I met during this 2 weeks. She also help us to book a shuttle service to airport on the last day. The room is spacious good for 3 persons and bed is comfy and look exactly the same from the pic The breakfast is good enough for us, coffee, eggs bacon and yogurt and cheese.

The room is clean but I could have chosen a much better quality hotel with this price. Most staff is nice except one front-of-house staff. She was extremely rude to me when I asked for additional bottles of water during our second night stay. She told me that they don’t replenish more as it is just a one-time thing (which is fine if she explained in a friendly way). Instead, she didn’t even look at me and spoke in a disdainful tone.
