How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There are some problems with cleaning. For example, I know for sure that a woman with long black hair lived in the room before me... and I would prefer not to know it.
Great accommodation close to the old town. Beautiful area with restaurant, bar and terrace. High digitalization, for example breakfast in the room can be ordered via a tablet in the room.

The room was clean and comfortable with a great view from the balcony, staff were friendly, and the location was excellent. We stayed here for 7 nights as part of our honeymoon and loved it; I would highly recommend :)

Parking fee is high.
Wonderful reception. You can drop your car and going in the city with free public transportation.

Rooms were not the cleanest - found wrappers in nooks left uncleaned, carpets still had lint and marks in them and very small specks in the toilet bowl. Our shampoo was also empty when we first arrived, although this was quickly remedied. Windows for the rooms we got all open into the building, so no natural light. Was expected though.
Location was good, right next to a bus stop. Rooms were nice and grounds were beautiful. The facilities were good as well, including the gym.

Although I forgot to put on the "do not disturb" sign, it was surprisingly early on the weekend that cleaning staff was knocking around 8 in the morning
The staff were very helpful and kind. The room was nice and clean and the hotel is just on the other side of the bridge from the city centre.

Pillows horribly small. Why glass wall bathroom? Who ever thought that was a good idea.

Exceptionally good hotel with the best location you can ask for. On-site facilities were great with a restaurant and bar, and lounging area outside. Rooms beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, and good noise insulation which is importing for a large and lively hotel. Parking on site is expensive but worth the convenience, with concierge service upon arrival. Location can't be beat. 2 minutes walk from the old city across one of the most beautiful bridges. Close to restaurants from all directions. Just lovely.

Breakfast unfortunately was not good at all. You do not have any variation if you don’t care for sausage, bacon and lots of sweets.

It would be nice to have a small pool or spa center in such a big hotel. Gym is there but some health & wellness area would be a plus!

Our room has a very nice view of the old town. Buses stop right outside the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We got checked in early and rested a bit before heading out.

The "courtyard" room is not on an outside courtyard but on a sunless gap between two buildings. This is a bit strange. Also I think the matress in the room, its time to replace. Bit lumpy.
The mini bar was well stocked and generous. The bathroom was well designed, great water pressure, plenty of towels and I liked the quality of the toiletries. Coffee maker and teapot in room with a nice selection of coffees and teas. Housekeeping kept everything tidied and fresh. Free public transport in Bern a big plus.
