I can't even begin to tell you the words. This place is heaven on earth and if not, it gets damn close. The walk to the lake takes an hour, you can slide and have the fun of your life with newly forged friendships, have the best meal ever in the restaurant and get to meet the wonderful staff and the local population there, watch the sunset at the lake or watch the sunrise if you wake up early in your bed. The day you will spend here will be one for the ages, please don't miss out!

The only downside was the temperature in the rooms, which was uncomfortably hot. It made it difficult to sleep at night. But other host complained about being cold in the other part on the hotel…

The location, high up in the mountains, was absolutely breathtaking. What I loved the most was taking a peaceful walk early in the morning before the gondola started running, unforgettable experience. The staff were also wonderful, incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay.

Last lift is at 4:45 pm so you are stuck on the mountain, but this is acknoledged before you go and if you are planning on being the first skiiers on the hill (as you should here) then it is perfect.

Food and staff was unbelievable, prices were very fair (for the area at least). Views are unbeatable.

The hotel’s breakfast was very generous, and the CHF 25 dinner included three courses, which were both plentiful and delicious. The staff were generally quite friendly. One staff member even offered me coins when I didn’t have any for the locker. However, I had a very poor impression of one male staff member with a small ponytail. On my second night, he claimed that he couldn’t find my booking information and was not polite about it, but it turned out to be their mistake. When I checked out, I returned the coins I had borrowed earlier, and he asked me who I borrowed them from. I said it was from a man, but I didn’t know his name. He criticized me for borrowing coins without asking the person’s name, and I even said sorry because of this. I felt that he didn’t like Asian women, which might explain his poor attitude. Other than that, everything about the hotel was great. The view was fantastic, the rest of the staff were very friendly, the hotel was extremely clean, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I still strongly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Rooms are a bit small and share a common shower area. Your overall experience is worth it though.

Absolutely loved it if you’re looking for a cozy place up in the mountains with access to ski amenities and a great hotel bar and kitchen this is your spot.

The mattresses + heat made for a rough nights sleep. An option to decrease the heat would be great!

Location, location, location! You are literally staying at the top of the mountain, which is only accessible by cable car. After 6pm, it's just you, the staff and other guests on the mountain. We were able to get stunning pics from the overlook bridge without the crowds or long wait. You are definitely paying for the opportunity to have time on the mountain sans crowds. The ride up is not included with the reservation, and it's a beautifully scenic 25 minutes to the top. Finding the entrance for check-in took a minute, but locals directed us on where to go. We checked in at the bar, and the staff was very friendly. We booked dinner for the evening (there's really no other option) and the food was good. Our room was small and clean. The mattresses weren't the most comfortable and there was no way to control the heat, so we got quite warm during the night. We had the window open for a while, but didn't feel comfortable sleeping with it open. Shared restrooms for all hotel guests, though they are separated by male / female. Clean and functional. Breakfast was included, and it was fine, though probably our least favorite of our trip. It's a rustic mountain experience - like staying in an affordable, clean ski lodge - hostel-style. We enjoyed our stay and the overall experience.

An amazing location to spend the night as a foot of snow fell outside! We were 8 out of about 18 guests in the whole place so we felt as if we were getting personal service! More comfortable than your typical high altitude hut with excellent communal bathroom facilities and a decent enough restaurant. Reasonable breakfast.

Wonderful views, sunsets and sunrises after tourists leave and only a few folk left overnight. Good buffet breakfast and a very nice three course dinner for 25chf. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Loved the dormitory and the wonderful views from the windows to wake up to. Met some lovely fellow travellers too.

Unique location in the lift station with views of the Eiger and the valley below. A 'honey pot' destination during the day so very special to be able to enjoy the solitude of the evening and morning. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the food filling. A great location after a day of walking the Via Alpina. A more relaxing option than Grindelwald.

Location could not have been better, on the cliff side with views of the whole valley. Rooms were warm and comfortable, staff were friendly, food was incredible. A thunderstorm rolled through over dinner which just added to the ambience. Look forward to coming back one day.

There is nothing bad to say, but it is a hiking/skiing refuge so do not expect great comfort. Many of the rooms are shared dormitory's and there are communal bathrooms etc. so it may not be to everyones tastes

It is an amazing location with incredible mountain views in every direction. It is a very special and unique experience when all the other day visitors have to leave to catch the last gondola down at 6pm and you have the whole station almost to yourself. The evening dinner was delicious and reasonable priced and staff were great.
