How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The Falken am Rotsee is well located, with public transport only meters from the front door. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and equipped with the necessary facilities. Both, dinner and breakfast met our expectations.

We were on the second floor and steps were hard with many bags. The location is not central and hard to do any thing unless you get transport. They cater for many Chinese tour groups so we could not eat when we wanted to as guests I would expect some area set aside for I house guests. Breakfast was fine. Not really to my liking for.a.hotel in Luzern. Overall my rating reflects the total stay.
The dinner was very nice, and assistance with taxis was good.

The restaurant was expensive but there were other street food shops nearby at walking distance

There wasn't any aircon but we were given a fan.
The host was really lovely, we got free tickets to the lake which was a 2 minute walk behind the hotel and a welcome relief from the hot day, we could also sit at the top of the shaded cafe with the dog which was really lovely. 5 mins from Lucerne in the car. Free parking outside the hotel. We had Chinese food from the hotel and sat outside with the dog which was great. The food was gorgeous. The room was lovely and big.

Was situated on a noisy main road above a Chinese restaurant, which meant smells lingered in the corridors. The restaurant on the ground floor was overpriced compared to UK Chinese restaurants. And there was a lot of smoking on the tables outside which was unpleasant.
Breakfast, cleanliness of room and great shower. Fab in room

The curtains didn't quite cover the windows. No aircon, for a very hot evening.
Good location. Only a short bus ride from the city centre, regular 15 min buses. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. We didn't use it,but there was access to the Rotsee lake swimming zone, just behind the hotel. Free Parking right outside the hotel, enabled our car and trailer to park with no problem.

Our room was not troughly cleaned (dust and dirt on furnitures) and common areas for food and hot drinks were messy. Overall all hotel felt dated but it could be justified by price range.
Good value considering the prices of other hotels in the region. Transportation to citry center is possible with a quick bus route.

No air conditioning, so too hot and stuffy. Widows open became a mosquito feeding frenzy. Presumed communal tea and coffee set up in corridors but can’t be confirmed due low check in information.
Good location for bus or walking into town. Open air parking no height restrictions. Comfortable beds and clean spaces. Friendly staff

The hotel needs a bit of renovation, also at stairs it had a strange smell. The restaurant we thought is local, but it is chinnese, you can smell it as you enter the hotel
The room was really nice, had a lot of space and tge view on the mountains. The bed was comfortable and overal very clean room

The location is a little remote, so you won't be close to things if that's what you're after. But honestly, it was kind of nice to be away from all the noise and craziness of the city. It’s a perfect spot if you’re looking for some peace and quiet.
First off, the room is seriously spacious. You won't be tripping over your suitcase or running into furniture. Plenty of room to spread out and really relax, which is always a win in my book. Everything was tidy and well-kept, which made the stay even more comfortable.

Friendly welcoming and very clean hotel . Free parking right in front - great breakfast - bus stop into Luzern 1 minute away with very frequent buses . Exactly what we had hoped for definitely recommend .

The hotel is now very dated, however everything was clean and comfortable. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic. A great place to come if you are just looking for a good value room for a night.

We went to Electric Friday at Pilatus, therefore to avoid driving back to Zürich after the event, we stayed there for 1 night and it was okay. I'm glad I've asked for a fan and the lady at the reception gave me one, because it was quite warm in the room. Without this, we would not have spent a good night as if you open the window, you hear the traffic of the road. I didn't eat it as I chose to stay in bed but as per my friend, the breakfast was very basic.

No food available the night of our stay and no tea/coffee facilities.
We traveled from New Zealand and stayed one night. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a little difficult to find and is not close to town albeit with magnificent views of the village below. The restaurant was not open the night of our stay and we were informed that deliveries of food is possible. There is no tea/coffee facilities available Ethel room.
