Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayAll in all a nice experience. Area was full of small restaurants, cafe's and bars. Only a short trip with the tram to the center (just needed to figure out how it worked). Nice rooms with a small kitchen and a nice bed. Very good bathroom with shower. Rather calm in the night even though plenty of action outside. No breakfast available but shop and alternatives just outside the building. Based on the price I would say we got good value.

SwitzerlandPoor selection of teas, and options for making tea. The fact that I had to walk to coop to dispose my rubbish everyday. That it wasn’t clear what I was to do with the plastic key on departure: no information on the confirmation document provided. I searched for several minutes at the entrance where I could give back the key and ended up taking it with me and had to ring guesthouse about what to do and now have to pay to post the key back to Switzerland.
Location: not far from city center, very near tram stop, coop, and a good range of restaurants

United KingdomThe lift stinks of kebab the smell comes from the restaurant in the bottom floor. Of course the room could be bigger but then the price would be higher so can't compain.
Lechergut was the best automated air bnb style apartment 'pensionat' I have ever visited. Usually these are less so good in terms of cleanliness and value. It is not the Ritz but certainly in Zurich, nice perhaps a little bit bohemian neighbourhood just some 10 minutes tram ride from the centre is quite good value for Switzerland.

SwitzerlandI am regular guest ay Guesthouse Lochergut. Usually the rooms are clean and everything works well. This time the bathroom was deceiving. The glass wall was not cleaned recently and a bad smell came out of the bathroom. Moreover the main lamp was not working. I would suggest checking appliances and lighting as a regular task by the cleaning staff.
The studio has a small kitchen. You can save money buying food at the neighboring supermarket instead going to a restaurant.

GermanyIt was nice overall, but the trash can was broken. The tram outside was kinda loud. But with a close window, it was fine.
The keycard didn’t work at first. Fortunately, the coworker gave me some solutions and I successfully managed to get in.

GreeceCheck in can be extremely frustrating. The first time I tried doing it in the automatic machine outside the building ,the key did not work so I had to call the line in order to troubleshoot. I had to wait 20 minutes outside the room in the rain. I was lucky enough to have internet and phone access, but if you have neither ,note that you are completely alone if the check in does not work . This can take a lot of time after a tiring day of travelling.
A simple cozy room just a few minutes away from the central station in Zurich. An almost decent value for money choice in expensively Zurich.

BelgiumDon't expect anyone to help you, check in is with a machine outside so if its raining you get wet and for example my first key did not work so I have to activate another one in the machine. Long story short, if you need any assitance everything is via message or phone call. There is nobody there to help you.
This is a good place if you think about price & value, clean, very well equiped and theres a nice kebap place on the first floor of the building. Zurich is an expensive city so this is a great alternative!

United KingdomI have a few things to add, which aren't really complaints, they're more feedback. It was pouring with rain when I arrived and I was wet through. I didn't appreciate having to type in all of my details at the check in screen outside and having to search through my luggage for my passport when all I wanted to do was be inside. Perhaps a roof could be provided over the check in screen or bring the screen inside? There was far more to fill in than just your name and check out date, which is what was previously advised. The room did get warm, even with the heating off. It cools down nicely again with the window open but then the room fills with the smell of cannabis from all the regulars smoking weed on the other side of the road. Not sure what the hotel can do about that. I only had one pillow and it was really soft. It would help if there was a notice pointing out that the TV doesn't pick up any programs but that YouTube and Prime are available. I found out completey by accident. Internet access was really poor and most of the time I used my own data from inside the room. If I stood underneath the router in the hallway it was a bit better but nothing to write home about. I did contact the owner (through Booking.com) to ask about what could be done to improve this and did not receove a reply over a 3 day booking. For what it was the accommodation was extremely expensive, but then so is Switzerland as a whole.
The room provided me with all the basics, which is all I ever want since I'm always out exploring for most of the day. The shower was excellent. On full blast it almost pinned me to the wall and virtually sand blasted all the grime off me. Apparently Lochergut is a trendy area to stay in. It is a fair walk from Zurich centre so unless you're looking to build up your 10,000 steps a day, catch a tram. There's a number 2 or number 3 (for the station) passes right outside every few minutes. There's several cafes and bars around and a Coop next door (closed on Sundays) if you want some quick pastries beofe you set off in the morning. My favourite restaurant was a Mexican a couple of stops towards town called La Taqueria. Try and book ahead because it fills up. Top tip - plugs are the diamond shaped 2 pin plugs. Round European plugs or adapters won't work in this room.

GreeceTwo things I didn't like: 1. The bathroom is surrounded by glass and the entry point is a few centimeters wide as 2/3 of the space is wasted by glass that cannot be moved and if you carry extra weight on your frame it's difficult to enter in. You should put a warning as besides being non convenient a really chubby person wouldn't be able to fit it. Finally the pictures of the bathroom didn't match. 2. No good insulation
Clean. Warm. Good location overall. Automated process. Host replies to queries.
