Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomHotel was poor standard. Shower not working well. Shower curtains were very dirty. It seems like they have not been cleaned for long time. Need one hand to hold the shower that left you with one hand to wash yourself, not ideal.
I did not like the hotel. Hotel location was ok. Staff was friendly. I would not pick this hotel if I was to stay in Zurich. Location was good I could walk from station in about 10 minutes. All places of interest were close by.

SwitzerlandWhen we arrived, we did not get the (more expensive) room category we had booked. Staff was not upfront about downgrading us and then was rude when we asked. Very unprofessional, left us with a bad feeling on a special day for us. Only after insisting the price was dropped.
The location is very good. Hotel is run down.

IrelandI would recommend bringing a device for watching movies or TV. It seemed strange at first to leave and collect our key, but it was a very easy and straightforward process.
Location was perfect for city exploring and close to any transport. The room was clean and warm with a great view of the street below. Staff were very friendly and greeted us every time we left or collected our key.

AustraliaWe happened to have our stay during the biggest party weekend (apparently, happens in Zurich every three years or so), so our experience and stay were spoilt by that. The music didn't stop until 4am every night, we couldn't even walk around the city as streets were closed and packed with thousands of people, rubbish was everywhere when we walked out to breakfast in the morning. Not nessesserily the hotel fault, but for that staff wasn't really accommodating, just gave us earplugs and that's it. I feel the hotel could get in touch with us prior to our arrival to let us know about the party weekend and what to expect and to give us an opportunity to reconsider our stay in case partying wasn't the main intention for our time in Zurich. The room was quite basic, no air con, no fridge, we couldn't open the window because of noise, the bathroom and shower were very small.. there're quite a few steep stairs to get to the reception which was difficult with heavy luggage. I know for Zurich it may have been a good value for money, but I felt we got a very basic uncomfortable accommodation for quite high price we paid.
Location was right in the city centre/old town, easy to get around, close to main train station. Water in the shower was nicely cold, which was pleasant to take a cold shower after a hot day.

SingaporeRoom was quite small and awkwardly L-shaped with the bed squeezed into he short narrow part of the L making it difficult to get in and out of if on the "wrong" side. Although small and sparsely furnished, the room was clean. Small bathroom. Note: reception is up a flight of stairs from the street with no lift (lift is available from reception to the rooms).
Hotel chosen for close proximity to the station - 8 mins level walk. Good breakfast.

SwitzerlandNever even slept in the room, they did not put up any warning or tell guests that the Zurich festival was occurring on the street below. The music was so loud the walls were shaking, and when I tried to ask how late the music went I was told I wouldn’t find anywhere else to stay. Instead of explaining that there was the festival until the following day I was told there’s nothing we can do. I then had to find another place to stay as it was so loud and I felt unsafe. They leave the front door open and you can just ask for a key, reception did not check IDs or anything. I felt really unsafe and left and had to find another hotel that evening. I had called a few weeks before my reservation asking if it was quiet (as the hotel is above the street) and was told yes very quiet. Was not handled properly and the staff were not very welcoming or helpful at all.

IranI paid around 300 Canadian dollar per night to this hotel and expected a more spacy room and with better equipment. The room was very small. There was not a air conditioning system. Only a fan was provided. Breakfast did not have enough quality and varieties.
The location of the hotel was great. It was very close to the city center. Contrary to many hotels, this hotel had provided slippers for the guests, which are really needed to use in the room and bathroom.
