How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Shower did not maintain a temperature so showers were usually cold or just warm.

No personal touch. From check in to check out everything is done on a screen in the cafe. No personal interaction. I’m sure it’s there if you want it but a friendly “welcome” and “thank you” from a human goes a long way.
Hotel very close to station. Clean good size rooms with very comfortable beds.

V minor point but the tv lists a lot of UK tv channels - they existed on the tv but didn't work. Not a problem for us but if they are listed make sure they work or just take them off your list of channels and off the tv.
Did not have breakfast as caught an early train (hotel is next to station). Supermarkets nearby for any food/drink/chocolate.

Only issue was perhaps the luggage storage room in the basement was quite dirty as well as the public bathroom in the basement. Otherwise the rooms themselves were clean and comfortable.
Bed was very comfortable!

Nothing really. It’s a great place to stay.
The location is brilliant. 5 min walk from Zurich main station. The room was specious and tastefully decorated.

The room is small, small space for our luggage.. I book 2 double room but they give me 1 double room and 1 single room.. Then i complain to the staff at the cafe.. Then they gave me another double room.
The bed is super comfy and clean, big tv and near to zurich hb station

The hotel doesn’t have own reception, any issues you need to drop by to the their sister hotel located nearby to resolve there.
There is Coop nearby , convenient for light breakfast

Rooms were warm, AC somehow didn’t work and as the hotel is very close to the train station it was too loud to open the windows.
Very nice little hotel, nice room, comfortable beds. Soundproof windows. Good location.

The room was VERY small. It was totally fine for one night and served us very well. For a longer stay, be sure to check size of room.

No kettle in the room.

Lighting in the room was a bit dark so not ideal for packing or unpacking cases
Good location, close to railway station and 18 minutes walk to old town. Very comfortable bed and very good bedding. Large tv with some English channels. Good coffee machine. Room has mostly Swiss sockets and euro plugs do not fit however under coffee machine self there two euro sockets hidden (room 117)

Checking in - there are no staff on a Sunday so you are left to check in on your own. There is a door code offered which was fine and then a screen to complete with info including passport details to get given your room card. This did all work ok but a risk if you couldn't get a card etc as no one around to ask. Also the room has Swiss plugs and so not helpful for standard euro plugs. There were two USB slots but one was broken and the other not working. We had to nip out late Sunday night and purchase some adaptors from the rail station (COOP) shop. It turns out that on the TV screen (under hotel info) it advises you can hire them from the sister hotel the Hotel Montana but we didn't know this until later when watching TV!! Just wanted to point this out so other folks in a similar position from the UK know what to do.
Room was a great size - nice wet room for bathroom too. Check out at 12:00 very handy. Bed very comfortable. Close to railway station which is very helpful.

The self check-in was slow and most of the information could have been done before arrival. The room had a sink and fridge but no cutlery or crockery or anything to prepare food. The air-conditioning was fixed and because it was hot during our stay we had to leave the window open which meant lots of noise from the railway nearby.
The hotel was easy to get to from the main train station. Onsite baggage store if arriving before 2pm. Lift available. Room was comfortable including the bed. Great coffee in the cafe downstairs.

The shower holder was broken, the window a little loose. We did not have a chance to ask for fix since we did not see any employees during our stay.
Best location in Zurich. Very clean and confortable.

As every time I've stayed here, the pillows here are awful. There is no filling whatsoever in them, so you end up stuffing several pillows in the one pillow case and then it's half decent.
I was pleasantly surprised to find the room had airco, something all other hotels in the city seem to be lacking. I've stayed here before and the hotel is very nice and clean and conveniently located.
