Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesTo have some staff there for check-in. Door was locked when we arrived. thankfully a couple was walking by and told us about a side door to get in.
No breakfast - no staff did self check in. The location was great 5 minutes to train station.

United KingdomThe lack of staff due to the self-service check in, no room service, and that breakfast is served in a neighbouring hotel makes for a little bit soulless experience. But I guess that is reflected in the good price.
It's in a great location, very close to the main train station and Zurich's 'hip' neighbourhood Kreis 5. The rooms are also very comfortable.

FranceNo clear instructions how to check out and luggage. Yes, there are boards who says "luggage room" but it doesn't say that there is "no check out" and it doesn't say where you can find the card to re-access the luggage room. I saw 2 people calling around to get in as well. So clearly, instructions were missing.

United KingdomHotel in great location next to the station which was ideal for us as we were travelling by train. No interaction with any staff as it was self check in. I felt our room was small and dark but otherwise comfortable. It was quite pricy but maybe that's just Switzerland. Really good break fast at nearby hotel except there was no hot water to make tea For an overnight stay it was OK but nothing more

United KingdomIts not a fault, but you check yourself in by a large tablet located in the coffee bar which is located on the ground floor. If you have any queries there is a phone number to ring. The hotel is a sister hotel of Hotel Montana which is 2 minutes away across the street and if you really need to speak face to face with someone you go there. Its not a problem.
The location is superb, straight out of the front door cross the road and you're on platform 18 of the station. There is a massive shopping centre under the station, with many places to eat and every museum or tourist attraction is close by. Its a 1 mile stroll to the lake and there are lovely gardens and parks on either side of the lake. The hotel is very smart, the room was a very generous size with a larger than average shower cubicle, coffee machine and black out blinds. Cant really fault anything about the place.

SwitzerlandThe rooms are a little small and no fridge. The shower head was broken and the water pressure could be improved. The ventilator in the bathroom didn’t work and there was a unpleasant smell. And our room was not cleaned the next day (we had left our room just before 12am and had put the card on our door indicating it needed cleaning).
Location was great next to the main station. The hotel decor is cute, nice terrasse and choice of snacks from the restaurant. And the beds were so comfortable!

United KingdomThere was lack of instructions in the room or a welcome guide which I thought would have been really handy, especially for first time visitors. There was little details that needed touching up in places, and a top of a nail sticking out the floor, but overall we really liked the hotel and room.
The room was trendy and stylish, bed comfy and in a great location. It’s self check in and we saw no staff at any point, (which we didn’t mind as didn’t need anyone) but there is a number if you need to contact someone and a linked hotel around the corner. you can also store your own luggage if needed.

IndiaThe self check in is little cumbersome. When we checked in, the cafe was shut and the check in machine was not able to dispense the key, so we had to walk to the nearby hotel and get that issue sorted. No luggage storage if you reach before the check in time.
The hotel is very close from the train station so it is ideal if you are planning to travel with Swiss Pass. The rooms are very comfortable for two adults, the bed is comfortable and suitable for tall adults. There is charging and reading light on both sides of the bed. The room has aircon which is a plus as it was very hot when we visited in July. The room is dimly lit as the interiors are in dark green! The bathroom is spacious for an adult and it comes with a hair dryer and basic toiletries. They have turn down service only if you ask. The check in and check out is by self as there is no staff available. There is a small place to hang clothes and store small bags and a coffee machine in the room. There is no desk to work on the laptop which is an issue if you want to work a bit, The hotel is next to a tram stop so city center is a 15-20 tram ride away. I recommend this for folks who are just staying in Zurich for 1-2 days or planning to visit other cities by train, else take a hotel in city center.

United KingdomThe automated check-in and check-out system takes too long and is not intuitive (for example the check-out doesn't work). The room (44) had air conditioning but it wasn't strong enough to fully cool the room. The room was always >25degC. A cleaning rag was left in the room.

AustraliaThey gave me an incorrect code to get into building. During stay messaged for accurate code and they didn’t reply for 9 hours. No one answers phone number to call if issues. Had to loiter around hotel and wait for someone to leave so I could get back into my room. Aircon basically not functional room was very warm.
Great location, self serve check in was easy for me in check in ours. Good internet and comfortable bed. Very quiet no street noise or noise from surrounding rooms.
