Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SwitzerlandStroller (and suitcase) needs to carried up as the house is on steps but for us it was a "one time" as we came with an extra mini stroller and it was super worth it for the view
We stayed as a couple with two children (5y + small baby). We can attest that this place is extremely family friendly. It also offers a stunning view over the lake and to the mountains. It is truly breathtaking and for us it was the most beautiful view we ever had from a bedroom. We enjoyed a very spacious and pretty room (technically two connected rooms plus a bathroom and a nice balcony). The house also has a garden :) The location is great. It's meters from a very tasty Italian restaurant and close to everything in Montreux and the lake. The host Claudine is lovely. She's a truly beautiful soul who invests in her guests and the place and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at home. She even arranged for parking on request. Overall our experience was exceptional ❤️ We really wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be coming back!

CanadaThe stairs up to the property are tiring, but the views pay off. I would make sure to plan to travel light and it is a very enjoyable stay.
Claudine is a fantastic host. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The view is fantastic in a wonderful city. The hike up to the property made us feel like locals.

Australiait is difficult to access. anyone with mobility issues or large luggage should reconsider. tax not included in fee - must pay city tax on top on arrival per person in cash.
shared kitchen adequate, nice friendly staff. shared bathroom difficult to use with toilet button stuck and shower causes water to go everywhere.

SwitzerlandHost did not mention that other guest with a big family was staying over. The walls are really thin and I could hear loud noises throughout the night. My door was also knocked multiple times in the middle of the night by the other guest. In the early morning loud music was played added with constant door banging. No apology from host or any effort to fix the bad experience. Had to leave a day early (without refund) because I couldn’t sleep or relax in my room.

TurkeyIt is literally stands on the railway, so a lot of noise. We could not get in the building and waited for 20 minutes at the gate. I called the hotel no one answered. Fortunately another guest let us in after 20 mins of waiting. It says private or ensuite bathroom but you share the floor with 2 more guest room and the bathroom is shared. The owner or her friends literally did a barbeque 1 meter away of our window so a lot of smoke and smell in the room. No respect to the guests at all. So we could not open the window and no ac in the room. The owner did not even bother to talk or answer my messages or calls while check out as well. I needed to chase for someone to pay the city tax. In the end a friend of her came and I gave the money to her. She did not even bother to wake up at 9.30 am. Overall, it was a little cheaper but appereantly the owner does not even care about guests or managing the place. Just stay away from this place. It does not deserve any penny you pay for.

United StatesIt is fronted by a busy street, and behind it is a regional railway track. The grounds were not in good shape, grass needed cutting, building in disrepair. The gate to the yard was locked and we had to yell to get the attention of someone in the house to open it, but later the owner told us it’s just broken and we have to lift it and swing it a certain way to get it to work. The toilet button was missing on top, so to flush you had to put your finger into the tank. It was a shared bathroom but the door did not lock. The kitchen area was somewhat clean but in need for updating. Looked like a youth hostel or backpacker hotel kitchen. To get to the property, you had to climb about 100 steps, straight up, and then walk up a steep garden path, and then up stairs inside. The room furnishings were extremely basic and the room was small. To get to it, you had to walk through a gym/yoga room. The balcony was tiny.
The view of the lake over Montreux was excellent. However we left after about an hour. We did not like anything about the property. The owner did not seem to be on the lookout for us and we (inadvertently) woke up another guest in order to open the gate and bring our luggage into the yard / house. We found out later the owner was in the house the whole time but must not have heard us. She was a nice person and wanted to be a good host, but didn’t seem bothered by how inconvenient it had been for us (in our 60s) to lug our heavy bags up steep stairs and a steep walkway in the hot evening sun and then not be able to get into the house easily.
