    - Staff is super friendly and competent. - You can have breakfast even very early. There is a special room where you can have breakfast if you need to take it very early. - The bar/restaurant downstairs is a both cosy and modern place. I liked to spend hours there to rest or even work on my laptop. - Bus station is very close, like 50 m from the hotel.

    - Staff is super friendly and competent! - They explained everything to me that I needed to know, especially where to park my bicycle. - The bar/restaurant downstairs is a lively place so if you want company just go down there. - Even if there is a concert in the restaurant you will not hear any noise up in your room. - The place is very central in the city.

We loved this hotel. Both the owner and staff were super helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean and in nice condition. The restaurant has a nice, stylish feel with a good selection of drinks and the food was tasty with a hood choice. The breakfast was excellent! Huge in fact. All in all, loved it.

The room was a little too enclosed perhaps but that was more because of the architecture and for a pure overnight stay, it was perfectly OK.

Very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to help and answer questions. They are a real asset to the hotel. The hotel itself is perfectly decent and good value but they make the difference.

This was my second stay within 3 months, this time a bicycle tour. This hotel has a wonderful ambience with posters and memorabilia based on pop & rock history from the 50‘s thru 80‘s. Very friendly and helpful staff - excellent retaurant and a collection of interesting beers. The breakfast was impeccable! Very good value for money. They also provided a lock-up garage for storing bicycles overnight.

    Nothing at all!

From the picture on Booking.com, the hotel looked a bit run down but the reality is that it is a recently-renovated place with a 50’s - 70‘s music theme and adorned by really nice posters of musical events. The main bar/dining area is beautifully done and they serve a variety of craft beers, even including an Irish IPA!! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast very good indeed. I do a lot of 2 - 3 day backpacking trips in Switzerland and this is the best hotel I have stayed in so far!

The best option to go to comfortably and affordably to Schwarzsee ski resort....if you have a car.

The rooms don't have good sound insulation, and in front of the the hotel there is a church with a very loud bell that can wake you up early in the morning, or during a possible afternoon nap. The staff mostly spoke german, and no english, but were always very friendly and communicative through hand gestures.

Awesome location, as it is it is less than 20 min to the ski resort Schwarzsee and or Fribourg city. The hotel is also cheaper than at other places at ski resort Schwarzsee. On the ground floor there is one large caffé/bar, which is quite lively as it seemed to be the only one in town.

Maybe the room doors could have some silent closers or silencing strips, to stop some of them from banging when people close them.

The location was lovely. The restaurant was in a bright and modern decor with paintings and drawings of 'Hirsche'. The hotel is located opposite the church with its beautiful sounding bells. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The room was spacious and decorated in a wood cabin style. The dinner we had was excellent, albeit not cheap. Food in Switzerland is expensive, so not the fault of the hotel. The breakfast was superb, offering a huge selection of artisan bread, croissants, jams, meat, local cheeses, and lots more. The lady serving our breakfast even wrapped up some of the local cheeses we had not eaten to take with us. Certainly worth a visit. Thanks very much again and keep up the excellent work.

Proximity to the church (bell), but this was known. With earplugs not so much an issue. Check in could have been better, staff is busy serving restaurant clients, feels like they don't have time for you.

Convenient parking, the place is in the center, room is ok, good breakfast. Earplugs left near the bed are a thoughtful gesture.

The room itself was not comfortable at all. The bed consists of 2 separate wooden cribs so you sleep with wooden middle piece. We knew we shared a bathroom, but no single sink at the room, no soap or towel at the toilet appears shabby, seen the price of more than €100 for the room. Even more because a (closed) connecting door to other guests' room was very noisy while neighbour guests arrived noisy at 2 o 'clock in the night.

Very welcoming staff by arriving and helpful by our late diner.

Check-in was poor. There are no signs so we asked at the bar and were kept waiting for 20 minutes, and then just handed a key. No idea why we had to wait and why we were ignored for so long. Meals at the hotel are expensive, chicken burger and chips £25, kids 3 chicken nuggets and chips £9.50. That's £60 without drinks and service charge, which is rediculous. The town was dead on Sunday, everywhere (including other eating places) was closed. Our other complaint is outside the hotels control but if we had know we would Not have stayed here. On Sunday (the only day we stayed so cannot be sure about weekdays) the church across the road rings it bells Every 15 minutes, all day and all night. It drove us crazy and meant a poor night's sleep. We definitely would not stay here again.

Room was a good size with twin beds pushed together, lovely and clean. Had balcony which was nice, but only one chair, so one of us had to sit on the floor, when enjoying the view of the church and busy road. Breakfast was excessive, there is no way two people could eat what we were given. I think the cost to stay was expensive just because of the amount of food given out at breakfast. Just to give you an idea, we were given: two bowls of oats in yoghurt with fresh apple pieces, as well as 2 individual pots of yoghurt. Three mini boxes of cereal, 500ml tetra pack of milk (unopened), 2 boiled eggs, 3 pots of jam, 2 crossiants, half a loaf of fresh bread, 2 packs of meat (approx 5 slices in each pack) and approx 3 kilos of cheese (2 kinds). Every table was served the same amount of food. We felt embarrassed about leaving so much untouched.
