Beautiful place with cosy interior. All details of the decor have been carefully thought out. Tradition married with modern touch. The place is all what you would expect from the Swiss Alpine Chalet. 🙂 Great restaurant. We had a very nice dinner there. Food was delicious. Staff was very helpful and customer oriented. Looking forward to visit this place again 🙂

Staff at check-in less friendly. Room a bit warm, even with window open. One of the blinds at the windows slightly broken, but no big deal because the exterior lamps switch off at 10pm.

Beautiful view from the room. Rooms nicely designed and maintained. Very friendly lady at breakfast.

One of the best places I have visited with the most amazing view to a dreamy lake. A quiet place for a perfect vacation, especially if you want to take it easy and chill while listening to the cows. Recommend it for sure!

Absolutely nothing

I was travelling for 3 weeks and this was my favourite hotel .The hotel was amazing and the room was absolutely beautiful. We had a roof top patio area with sun loungers.Staff were extremely friendly . The evening meal was fabulous ( high end and the presentation superb)and the wine recommended by the waiter was perfect Would go back again

The balcony is located on the side of the building, and so primarily looks onto the neighbouring house. However, you can still see the mountains and the lake on the side of the balcony. The breakfast was a bit chaotic; it was supposed to start at 8:00, but at 8:10 they were still busy setting it up despite multiple waiting guests. The woman serving it appeared frenzied and overworked.

Beautiful location in the heart of Gruyère district. Very large apartment with a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a comfortable sofa. It also has an enormous balcony. The bed is excellent; among the most confortable I have encountered on my trips.

- The Housekeeper didn't provide new towels every day, eventhough I have through the old ones on the ground, they were just picken up, folded and put back to fisrt the place - The breakfast is served from 8:30 which is too late for some people and they haven't mentioned it on the website. - The staff speak very basic english so it is a bit difficult to comunicate

I would be really picky with this answer as we really have no complaints. One window was cracked in the front room, the ventilation in the bathroom is not great especially when x3 persons shower after each other. The temporary bed is quite small. These are all very minor things to us, as I stated we were over the moon with this part of our holiday. We were returning from Italy.

The proximity to the restaurant which serves great food. The location (view ), peace and quiet, nice walks. The parking was on-site and free of charge. The staff went the extra mile and catered for us even when the restaurant was deemed full. Great service, going the extra mile !

Le Vieux Chalet is a gem in the heart of Gruyere. One can feel such love and meticulous care in every corner and little detail. Also, unforgettable was the warm welcome of such friendly staff. Outdoor dining was wonderful and breakfast was plentiful, a far cry from the typical Swiss breakfast offering. Our stay was delightful and the hotel exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.
