Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThank you the receptionist I believe her name like Becca , she is very kind and useful. I flew. From Thailand and very early morning. She coordinated with housekeeping. They were quick and cleaned to my room as requested since someone checked out. Thankful for it. I would love about the restroom and the room there is amazing, clean and great view. Love it.

AustraliaThe hotel was difficult to find, even using Google Maps. The name is on the building, but this can only be seen from the other side of the street. The downstairs area is a bar which also occupies part of the footpath. There is a small faded sign indicating the presence of a hotel, which was difficult to see, and no indication at the front door. The bar staff duplicate as reception staff and it was difficult to communicate with them over the noise in the bar. Our room was on the 1st floor directly over the bar, so we had to close the window due to the noise from below. We tried to turn the AC on so we could get some air but there was no control for it and we were informed that the AC is only available in summer. The weather that day had been a perfect spring day but because the windows in the room face west the room temperature was very warm. The only linen provided was warm doona's which were unsuitable for the conditions. 2 of the power points in the room did not work.
The room was clean. The hotel is close to Zurich station. Fortunately we only stayed here 1 night.

United KingdomWhen you get in it feels like some bazar, caffe whatever, not a hotel, but ok. The room I absolutely hated. The bathroom was from concrete that looked like mouldy and it felt gross stepping into the shower, the walls in the room were dirty, not decorated for years, looked like in a drug squat, really ugly depressing picture on the wall, fair enough they are introducing local artists but should think whether the guests want to look at something looking like a demon all night, too small room, morning very loud staff waking me up by having a conversation, was glad to run away after one night!
Nothing. Maybe the staff was friendly..

United StatesOnly one key per room turned out to be super inconvenient. Also stairs going down to the bar/entrance cluttered with stuff near the bar door which is a fire hazards. Finally locks in the entry doors were difficult to open (when arriving after bar closed).

Hong KongI understand why the facilities are below average now. The television is just for decoration. It cannot be used. Water seepage issue in toilet all night. (I was away in daytime so I didn't aware...), we had to tolerate the water drops on our back every time when we used the toilet... from the photo , it was the issue that caused toilet and floor wet. I didn't voice out because I was speechless after asking the disappearance of tv remote. The breakfast is very expensive, costs CHF22.

AustraliaDidn’t get the room we paid for. Also what was described we should have wasn’t in the room at all. Once asking staff why we hadn’t received the correct room. they basically had no idea what to do. All they said “did you want to cancel your booking” clearly not I want the room I paid for. I Asked for a manager and they said they didn’t have one? Was extremely disappointed in this hotel. False advertisement if you pay for something and get something completely different. If you have staff working at a hotel/ bar they should be capable of handling situations like this.
Close to the old town.

IrelandIt is a very old run-down building. The rooms were smaller than a camp dormitory, and we couldn't open the wardrobe door halfway because it was wedged against the bed. The reception/bar/ lounge area is tiny . I really wouldn't advise staying here. We did look into moving to a different hotel, but unfortunately, there was none in the area available Save Your money and book elsewhere Also the bed was horrendously uncomfortable
The staff were incredibly helpful, and the hotel was directly across from the main train station

We need it a room to sleep close to the train station and this was the only hotel reasonable priced and they went above and beyond to help us getting in the room willing to provide a key lock box placed outside, since our train from Vienna was running late and reached Zurich after the reception closed. The room was extra clean, fresh and bed super comfortable! Thank you very much for your help and for great communication!
