How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

After travelling for over 35 hours from Australia , to see the stairs required to enter the reception area was disappointing BUT that was easily overcome by putting our big boy pants on and climbed the stairs
Outstanding location, clean and adequate rooms, helpful and friendly staff would highly recommend

No AC installation in the hotel.
Nice stay. Location is excellent and within walking distance of everywhere you would like to visit in central Zürich. I recommend it for a short stay. No AC in the facility so it would a little tough during the hot summer days.

Some of the staff in the front desk not nice at all, it seems they don’t like foreign people. They gave not the same room I reserved and it was a noisy room because I could hear, almost the whole day, the Polybahn, just joined together.The hotel doesn’t have AC, prepare yourself in summertime, they offer you a poor fan.
Location, just a few walking minutes from Zurich HB. It’s located in monument building.

Room was very hot. No aircon. Only one fan. Lots of stairs to get to reception from main entrance however there is a rear entrance without steps which makes it easier with suitcases.
Location so close to train station, river & old district. Comfy bed, lovely staff, delicious breakfast. Could borrow power adaptors from reception as the sockets weren't normal Euro style.

No ramp going from the main door to reception. Carrying luggages especially heavy ones were a challenge
It was very clean and easy to find. Really close to Zurich HB and the city center.

Staff members were very helpful: extra pillows, information about restaurants etc. Breakfast was very good, plentiful and varied. Location near the train station was a real bonus. I would go back.

- a bit more explanation from the receptionist about the restaurant conjoined to the hotel, breakfast opportunities etc., as well as an offer to ask questions about Zürich - the location is good in the sense that it is central and very near the haubtbahnhof, but it is also a very 'touristy' area with some tacky bars and restaurants nearby (which is unusual for Zürich)
- friendly receptionists, warm welcome to the city - spacious room and very comfortable bed - juliette balcony which was great - 24 hour reception - old world feel - bathroom was fantastic - people complaining about no A/C; this is an old world hotel so do not book if you want modernity (a fan is provided which was more than sufficient, and it was 30 degrees outside!)

Lots of noise from our side And since there is no AC - the window must be open hence hard to sleep For a short stay it’s great.
We came to see Taylor swift and we wanted something close to the buses- Location is amazing ! Beds are comfortable Rooms are simple but clean

Street was noisy at night and early morning, which is the price to pay for the convenient location!

No air conditioning Price is very high, but it’s Switzerland.
I would recommend anyone coming to Zurich to stay here! The location was great, only a few minute walk to the main train station. But it was also super close to all the sights in Zurich and easy to walk everywhere. The daily breakfast was great and the rooms were comfortable.
