How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The bathtub was very dirty. The ground was black. It looks like they didn’t cleaned it for a while. I was glad that I had my Flipflops so that we could take a shower with Flipflops. The facility were very old. But this is ok. But I wished it would be more clean.
The location was great!

Room and bathroom a bit outdated.
Big single room, rather old, with single bed. Small bathroom but effective. Bus stop right in front of the hotel. Staff friendliness.

Noise from other rooms, even heard someone snoring next doors in the night, noise from circulation Strange food smell in corridor, 3rd floor Got coffee machine with 1 cap in the room 🙂

The facility inside the room was very minimal. There was no phone, no kettle, no hairdryer, no waste bin inside the washroom. But I am able to ask for a hairdryer inside my room. Overall it was not too bad.
The location is very good, walk to city center in 5 mins. Walk to Neuchatel train station in 7 mins. Bus station is just in front of the hotel. My room has a lake view and a little balcony. The staff is very friendly. They helped me get the Neuchatel tourist card. Because starting in 2025, we have to use the new online system to apply for the card, the little booklet we used before is no longer available. The online application was very complicated and also I haven’t received the QR code for application.

Was a no frills stay for sure. Stayed here for the location and price so can't complain about that. Would I take a romantic date there? Probably not as it's quite dingy and in need of some renovations.
Thought it was too expensive so not worth it.

The room was next to the elevator and the door is so light you can hear everything and everyone coming and going out of the elevator

Overpriced for this old, thin walled and unrenovated rooms, the room door didn't close properly and made noise with every draft, moldy joints can be found in the bathroom, the window shutter was broken and could not be closed.
Friendly staff, great location within walking distance to the city center and the main train station, a tourist card offering free public transport is included in the tourist tax, fast and reliable WiFi. You have the option to store your luggage.

Our only complaint is that in the entrance of our room, it was not well soundproofed and we could hear the neighbor talking on the phone very clearly.
Everything was perfect and really good for the price, despite being non-smoking rooms, our room had a small balcony (a sort of veranda), where we were allowed to smoke. The whole equipment is a bit deteriorated and it's rather noisy (from the corridors and the outside).
Liked the central location, close to the main station and the city centre. The bed was comfy.

During the night it was extremely noisy: Door isolation does not exist and you can hear pretty much anything that is happening in the corridor.

Standard city hotel. Good location close to everything. We had rooms facing the back side - view is ok and quiet. Was reasonably priced in comparison to the others. Absolutely ok for a 1 night stay and exploring the city

Mosquito nets would be nice.
Nice location, 15 minutes to the train station, 2 to the city centre. Everything is fine. Also please note that the tourist tax isn’t included in the price. It’s 4€ per person and night and gives you free transport in the area and free entries in a lot of places.
