The room was really hot, even with the air on cold it was hard to sleep with the heat in the room. We visited in March and it wasn’t even that hot outside. Not sure if it was because we were on the top floor or that the hotel is always really hot.

Toilet was blocked on our arrival. Offered a repair the next morning (not an appropriate solution) or a room change. Went to reception to change keys, was offered no apology for the inconvenience and kept waiting for 10 minutes whilst the receptionist stared at his computer and helped his colleague with other guests. Felt this was a poor level of service and said I wasn’t happy, asked for an upgrade given the circumstances which was given gracelessly. Bathroom door in new room didn’t close properly and was right next to the bed - not very romantic for a couple’s weekend away! Generally felt the hotel needed to pay more attention to detail, it felt generally impersonal.

Walking distance to the train station, old town and zoo. Good selection for breakfast. Comfortable bed. Pool a good size and interesting if you like 70’s architecture. Enrico in the fitness area was friendly.

The room is a bit dark for me. The room that we stayed, the bathroom had a broken door but we reported it. There are few option in the breakfast buffet but I believe if you have preference you can order it ahead.

The location, the ambiance, the staff, the inclusion of the use of the facilities including the swimming pool of the hotel, and mostly the employees working at the hotel. They are all smiling and very welcoming with their guests.

Air condition rather noisy at night, observed in all rooms (4). Balcony top floor unable to access, possibly because of healthy and safety issues! Despite that possible reason, the floor could be cleaned and weeded, possibly put some pots of trees, shrubberies in place to make it look nice and attractive! The present state of balcony floor looked filthy, unclean and derelict, in need of attention and clean-up! This doesn’t reflect the rest of the indoor cleanness and tidiness! Lift floor and corridor carpets may need revamping! This is just a constructive criticism, hope you don’t mind us saying!

Excellent breakfast, centrally located, close to amenities, could participate in carnival activities etc…

I really appreciated that when I checked in, I was given as a gift a transportation pass to travel around the city for 2 days. A welcome and unexpected surprise. There was always flavored water available across from reception and candy in jars in the afternoons and evenings.

We arrived before the check in time and our room was not ready. I would have appreciated them sharing the Basel card and travel card with us at the point we arrived so we could use it for the rest of the day even though it was not possible to check in. The staff seemed a bit disengaged and distracted and not super attentive.

The TV was old so we couldn’t connect our phone to the tv to watch a movie. And the shower was quite old and a tight squeeze so not massively comfortable.

Location was great from the airport and then super close to the city for site seeing. The pool and steam room was lovely and the staff there were extra helpful. The room was a great size and the bed was extra comfortable.

We saw with our own eyes prostitutes entering the hotel in the evening, dressed rather poorly, while the receptionists hid in their offices. When I booked our room, I thought that this hotel was not a suburban B&B where you could rent a room by the hour, but I may have been wrong. I think this is extremely embarrassing.

The breakfast was very varied. I liked that there was also vegan and gluten-free food on offer.

My friend emailed reception at hotel to make massage reservation & was told to do it when we arrived by reception .We went to Spa & Enrico arranged for addition massage so we were looked after ! So it was resolved . This needs addressing by reception or bookings team for future guests.

Excellent , manager at pool Enrico went out of way to help & Jean at breakfast was wonderful with us a group for 60th birthday . Really lovely staff.

We found our room very hot and the air conditioning quite noisy. Tried adjusting the thermostat but not very success. But the location of the room was nice and quiet. And the staff were helpful and friendly.

It is very well located - everything is within easy walking distance. The train station , theatre and the shops. It has a very nice pool and sauna / steam room.
