How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Only “complaint” is that we didn’t get a coffee machine in our room.
It’s a lovely hotel, really good quality, the staff are great and everything is super clean. Really close to the train station so location is ideal.

I booked a studio with kitchen but when I arrived I realised the kitchen didn’t have a stove or an oven. Only a microwave and a small fridge. I wish the kitchen was better equipped.

This is a very good modern hotel with very good facilities (good lighting in the room and very quiet, for example) - as you would expect at a reasonably expensive Radission. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is convenient for the rail station (eight minutes' walk) and also close to the town centre. Highly recommended.

The majority of TV channels were only in Tedesco/German. Nothing in Italian. Just 3 channels in English ( CNN, BBC, France 24) One of the showers did not work properly The WiFi was poor. Nothing in Minibar. No slippers. No value for money as compared to the provided service .
We found the hotel very good. Room was very clean and the bathroom items you need, restocked each day . Equipped with coffee machine ( tea & coffee) , hairdryer, ironing facilities. The hotel breakfast was excellent with good choice. Lots of options for all. The waiters are helpful, friendly and quick. All the staff do their best to make your stay the best. The Spa services were good & well priced. The pool area big and well renovated. Free access to Basel tickets for public transportation. Great location right in the centre of the city and tram stop right outside.

A little Saturday night noise in the street facing apartment, but it didn’t bother me and they have a lot of rooms which don’t face the street.
Clean, comfortable, easy check in, easy check out. Great location close to everything. Nice coffee in the restaurant. Staff were lovely.

The only thing I was disappointed is that the week of my stay the swimming pool was under renovations
Room was spacious , clean and very comfortable. Location is excellent , very close to the bus station, tram station is practically in front of the hotel for commuting if needed, very close to the various restaurants and shops Breakfast is good with various choices Stuff is great, very kind and helpful !

Our room was a little noisy as we were at the front but it was Saturday night...
Very good room, fabulous bed and every member of staff we interacted with were extremely helpful. Great location for the train station, for local restaurants and the old town.

I was in a lovely room however the bathroom was tiny and every time I entered the door would hit the toilet.
Location is good, staff always available and helpful. Good breakfast, fast lift.

The hotel advertised cable to, other hotels in Basel have English channels, this hotel doesn’t. Reception said many guests from UK question this. Big enough reason not to choose again.

Fridge was broken in the room, and would be great if there was a real coffee maker instead of kettle/instant coffee.
Room was nice and clean. Staff was accommodating, we were able to check in 30 min early, and they provided complementary breakfast due to broken fridge. Convenient location!

Absence of esspresso machines in the rooms (only a water boiler with one soluble esspresso dose with horrible taste was available, the other three sachets were decaf). No slippers or robes were available in the room. For a hotel offering a pool this is unexpected and a bit tacky. A bit more attention to the customer's needs would go a long way.
Great location close to the city center and the Rhein, nice pool, decent gym, comfy clean rooms, soundproof. The receptionists are proffessional, kind, and polite.

The property was great ! However, some things in the room are beginning to appear pretty worn/tired, e.g. shower curtain, some of the metal fixtures in the bathroom etc

Tea and coffee facilities- we had kettle but only decaf instant coffee and it wasn’t topped up during stay
