Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenBreakfast was extremely disappointing, stale bread and only thing that was available was boiled eggs (I asked, they didn't have any other types of eggs), bread (stale), yoghurt, cheese platter and cold cuts.
Staff was extremely nice. Bed was comfortable, a bit on the harder side for those of you who wants to know and water pressure in the shower was superb.

United KingdomThe breakfast is so limited for the price, could be way more hot options. Doesn't need to be so formal either with the table service - full buffet would be totally fine. The exact location just needs to be made a bit clearer once booked. I had to ask directions.
Super easy check in Staff were fantastic Amazing top floor to chill Room was lovely Over the hotel was immaculately presented Liked the free drink option for not having room cleaned Inclusive travel card is a great

SwitzerlandThere is no way to contact the hotel directly. Phone number and message system directs you to a customer centre service, which only works during working hours. The hotel is hidden inside a gallery and it’s not easy to find, no clear signal outside
Brand new hotel, with comfortable beds and stylish design. Staff was very friendly and they offer vouchers for amazing cocktails in exchange of daily cleaning

IsraelThe only thing I would add to the room is a kettle for a nice cup of tea when you wake up.
The team was very attentive to all my needs and the welcome was exceptionally warm. The bar-restaurant is very cosy, making it a really nice place to come back to after a long day. The rooms are super clean and nicely set up. I will definitely come back to Ruby!

United Arab EmiratesSmall, not easy to locate , found it due to comments by other travelers. No coffee in the room, we had to leave early and there are no coffee shops around. Add a kettle and coffee and tea and you are good. Hmm did I hear the music on the weekend?
Centrally located, chic decor. Funky. 1 lane away from the lake. Nice toiletries.

United StatesCheck in process is horrible, we booked couples and were given single rooms. Check in was flawed, for safety, keys should not have the room numbers written on them. We booked 4 rooms and initially were given 3 in error we had to walk to reception to request more pillows, towels and blankets since there is no way to contact them from the room.
Close to good restaurants, lotions, body wash and shampoo/conditioner are nice

United KingdomAvoid Ruby Claire – Zero Hospitality, Terrible Experience I travel frequently for work, and this has been one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I mistakenly booked my stay for March instead of February, which I acknowledged. However, instead of offering any reasonable flexibility, the staff told me to contact Booking.com and suggested that if I stayed, I might be able to make a case for a refund. I ended up paying almost £100 extra for the same "Cosy Room"—a misleading name, to say the least. After weeks of back-and-forth emails with the hotel, they refused to find a middle ground. Their response was essentially: "You booked a non-refundable rate, so too bad." Their only suggestion? Give the room to a friend or colleague—completely impractical. This lack of customer care speaks volumes. They are refunding me 10% of the costs ie around £15. On top of this, the stay itself was awful. The room was uncomfortable, with only one working power socket for the most used adaptor, and the location rather bad. The Wi-Fi was terrible, the bed was far from comfortable, and the duvet felt like something from a budget youth hostel. If I had been paying hostel prices, fine—but I wasn’t. It’s clear that the entire Ruby Group has lost the plot when it comes to hospitality. I strongly advise against staying here. Geneva has plenty of great hotels—consider Citizen M or others instead. If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. I normally don’t write reviews like this, but this was by far the most unpleasant stay I’ve ever had. I’ve already warned my colleagues and institutions that frequently host speakers in Geneva to avoid this hotel—and the entire Ruby Group, as others have used one of the other hotels as part of the Ruby Group - Ruby Lotti in places like Hamburg and so on. I would feel terrible if others fell for it.

United KingdomNo where to hang clothes up at all. Staff ok but not the friendliest. When reviewed with hotel stating there was no where to hang clothes up got an email stating I should’ve booked a larger room which I found rude. Never stayed in a room with absolutely no where to hang anything up before no matter the size
