Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SwitzerlandWith construction underway, it felt deserted and strange. I would have appreciated knowing about it beforehand. Breakfast is served in one of 3 hotels, depending on number of guests. It would have been nice to know which one to go to.

Newly renovated, well appointed apartments. They are basic but there is good quality where it’s needed ( bed, bathroom, kitchen)

PortugalIn the summer the hotel was like abandoned - no reception staff at all until you make a phone call and wait. We were promised tourist passes to attractions and train - we never got them despite calling the staff. We were not informed that breakfast is served in ANOTHER hotel so we missed it. Dont let the pictures fool you - the hotel has no amenities- it's bare room, no communal areas or sport facilities at all. If we weren't desperate we would have chosen a different place.
The room decor is nice and the beds are comfy.

United KingdomThe hotel is a building site. I tried to change the dates of our reservation (before our stay) from 7 to 5 nights and the system wouldn’t allow it. The staff and superiors were unhelpful and wouldn’t refund me for the 2 days we didn’t use. The hotel is separate from the main hotel, so meals and amenities are not in the same building. Rooms are very basic with nothing on the walls (depressing). The cleaning of the rooms was poor with no refills of shampoo/soap. Breakfast is poor quality and really not what I would expect for the price. Definitely won’t be staying in Sternen or Krone hotels in the future.

United KingdomHaving asked if property would provide a refund, they declined. Fine, given the free cancellation period had passed, but a gesture of goodwill of some sort would have been appreciated. I will not choose to stay at the hotel when I’m able to resume the hike.
I choose not to stay as I had tested Covid +, was advised to stop the Via Alpina hike I was doing. Also I wouldn’t want to bring risk of infection to a hotel.

United StatesStaff was non existent. Entire building was under construction. Also a crowd of people entered the hotel around 2 am and were very loud and came into our room. I had to yell at them to leave.
