How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room is nothing but basic facility.
I choose the hotel because it is located in EPFL campus, it was easy for me to explore those new architecture projects.

The room was nice, wit a good shower room and a soft towel. The breakfast buffet had a good choice and a tasty coffee. Just outside I found something to eat and a bar around the corner.

Very basic. This is a student accomodation. Do not expect much. Cleaning service was very mean.
Very basic hotel for a short stay or for a low budget stay at Lausanne. Beds were very comfortable and the size of the rooms was pretty good. The hotel is located inside the EPFL. Therefore the young and pleasant atmosphere. You will find a supermarket, a bakery and two restaurants in the same building. By staying at the hotel you get a free train ticket and you can visit Lausanne any time and as often as wish. The train literally stops in front of the hotel.

No air conditioning, and no EU plug sockets, must take a Swiss adapter. No USB charge points in room. Noisy from restaurant/bar close by

Hair dryer is at the counter.
The entrance is literally beside the Metro. Simplistic but clean and spacious room.

The breakfast is in the bakery downstairs and I feel like it is not diverse enough if you have extra dietary needs - and it feels overpriced. The staff and croissants were wonderful though!
The location is great for visiting EPFL or SwissTech Conference Center, and with the metro the Lausanne city center is just 10 minutes away. The room was spacious and clean, and mostly quiet (if it is on the garden side). There are stores nearby for anything you might need during your stay.

There were no storage spaces just open hangers. The shower water and tap water had a strong chlorine smell, and the washroom sometimes smelled really bad. The delivery trucks coming in at 4-5 in morning were sometimes really loud. The breakfast had very few options for the 14CHF price tag.
Location and staff were excellent, rooms were clean, and nice.

The rooms were super hot and there was no climate control (AC/fan) whatsoever, making it hard to sleep. Even worse, I could not even leave my window open at night as there were people talking and smoking right outside of it till way past midnight most nights.
The rooms are large, beds are comfortable, and the staff is super friendly. The location right at EPFL and the SwissTech centre is great for conferences and work visits. Moreover, everything you need (shop, restaurant, bakery, metro stop) are all within 2min walk of the hotel.
