The location at the Lago is great. Directly on the lake. The staff was very nice and helpful. A beautiful old house with stylish furniture. The covered patio for breakfast is very nice. From there you can do everything on foot

SwitzerlandThere was a lot of wind during the night and something was banging (shutter?) every few minutes for hours. Made it quite hard to find sleep. However, no reason not to think it was an isolated incident. Without that, the stay would have been very pleasant.
Friendly staff. Well located as everything in Ascona center can be accessed on foot. Nice room and nice view on the plaza below and the lake.

GermanyWe were given a room in an annex behind the hotel. Old-ish and in need of up-dating. No air-con and only a noisy fan with a half broken blade screen, small windows with no bug screens. Winter duvets in summer! Given the prices charged it wasn't worth it, keep driving for 20km and stay in Italy.
Located direct on the lakeside promanade. Off site parking with shuttle.

Portugalthe first room I was in was a disgrace a bed with a worn out soft dosshouse mattress. totally cheap and idiotic of management. when I complained they put me I’m a room with a ‘new’ bed. but damage to back done and holiday messed up. a secondary point is for Wi-Fi you need to repetitively input codes. totally archaic. a pain for Eu travels with high roaming fees in Switzerland
