How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was small and dated. I did not expect much as I have read some previous reviews. But it was clean. However, as we were next to Indian Restaurants on either side, we had the smell of cooking coming into our room.
Location as it was very central to go station and restuarants.

Hotel is dated. Needs update. Very basic amenities. AC needs cleaning (blowing out dust balls).
Great location. Central to everything. Staff helpful /friendly (except the male). Laundry room onsite. AC available in some rooms (note under room description).

Room is quite old. Bathroom smells like someone’s old sweaty towel left there to stink. Aircon is not maintained. Takes a while to cool the room and drips water after a while. Room only had tv, water kettle and hair dryer and chair that is a bit broken. Not even a free water. Very pricy for this level but understandable since it is summer.
Location - Walkable distance from interlaken west. Bus stop to interlaken east or wilderswil is around 2 mins walk. It is also surrounded by several restaurants, mcdonalds and also groceries. Staff - Accomodating and helpful Shower pressure is good and consistent. Internet is good and has an outlet for eu plugs.

Room and furnishings are very dated and could have been a little less dusty. Price is not worth the room itself, but you’re paying for the good location to Jungfrau / Grindelwald / Lauterbrunnen.
Decent location in Interlaken close to tourist attractions. Comfortable bed.

Our room was located on top of a restaurant and so it was a bit loud at times. There was no air con as such, we saw vents but no remote for air con.
Close to train about 6-10 mins walk. Has a lot of restaurants nearby, staff tourist friendly offering to help and open to suggest activities.

The balcony could do with a bit more cleaning. The pillows are flat. Basically, the cost if for the location otherwise I wouldnt pay so much for this kind of a hotel and room with no breakfast. They could have atleast some offers for breakfast
The location was very good. Perfect distance from the train station and so close to the bus stop. Right in the centre of the city with all attractions close by.

The sheets and room smelt so strongly of cleaning chemicals that it was hard to sleep and breathe clean air. There were very minimal “extras” as far as towels or other toiletries to make the stay more enjoyable.
We loved the location and it was an affordable option for traveling on a budget!

The place was very run down and tired, pillows were horrible and way too soft. Only one doona option which was way too hot for the season. Slept poorly. There was black mould in the bathroom. The staff were cold and non engaging. Other than the location in the centre of Interlaken, there is no reason to stay here again. we won’t be back.

We think 🤔 we will not go back to this hotel if we wiil visit again Interlaken someday. We hope with our assesment Toscana hotel will improve their facility , cleannes. At least their make the visitor comfort with their hotel as much as they are paid for. We in holiday with long trip from Indonesia to Belanda, Paris, Interlaken, Luzern and Zurich. the very disappointed hotel is Toscana
the hotel building and the furniture is very old, with minimum facility also . no refrigerator, no iron and the table, the telephone from room to room in our room is broken, the deposit box is broken, the blanket not comfort and look like old and not clean, our room is in the corner with narrow alley and dirty and broken carpets. The room also look like old, gloomy , not clean, not warm and comfort . We think it is not worth because we paid not cheap for 4 night in this hotel 824 Swiss Franc ☹️
