Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Namibiaspend hours and hours without electricity and internet connections was very poor
My name didn't appear on the list to have breakfast despite having paid the full amount .when I enquired I was told that Booking.com did not indicate that I can have breakfast. I have been using Booking .com to book for hotels and never experienced this. It was rather dissapointing and I think the best way is to cease membership.

Cape VerdeThere was no WiFi. I don't mean to say "The WiFi was bad" or "The WiFi was sometimes not available". I mean it when I say "I had no WiFi during my entire stay". Staff were friendly, acknowledged that they have a serious WiFi problem, but were incapable of remedying the problem in whatever way, although I signalled the problem to them every day. As a result, I had to stay at the office until midnight each day. The price of the hotel includes "free WiFi on the entire premises", which was not delivered. They refused to reimburse part of the cost. Apart from the non-existing WiFi, the room I got (306) was tiny.
I booked this hotel for the only reason that it is in walking distance to the headquarters of my workplace, whereto I had to undertake a business trip.
