Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThis B&B is very well located and the host, René and his family, are very nice. René provided us with a lot of information on Valparaiso and how to get around the city to get the most out of it. All of his recommendations were great. The breakfast was very complete and good, and we learnt how to make great pisco! We had a great stay there!

NetherlandsPerfect location in the middle of the historical UNESCO area. B&B owner René is host as well as a perfect guide, he takes time to inform you with really insiders information. We planned to stay for two nights and ended up for 5 nights, because of the perfect atmosphere. And for travellers: they do laundry service as well!!

United StatesI had an amazing stay at BnB La Nona. Rene and his family were exceptional hosts - very helpful and accommodating. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view. The location is about as good as it gets in Valparaiso - close to the sights of Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepcion, but still on a quiet street. Very easy access by public transportation (bus 612 or any that go via Pedro Montt) or taxi. Highly recommend!

IndiaLiked everything but wish the bedroom had an espresso machine
A true B&B just 3 rooms for guests and a spacious inner courtyard. Great location. What sets it above the rest is the host Rene who besides being incredibly knowledgeable also shared tips on where to go what to do and which were the best local wines ..his restaurant recommendations went into the detail of which varieties of fish to look out for on the menu..!! Breakfast every morning was a treat. Healthy and yet decadent...his wife baked fabulous bread while he was adept at ensuring something different everyday. I still remember the pebre sauce that he introduced me to.

Rene is an incredible host. He takes a lot of time to make sure the check in and check out process is smooth. He even helped us with transport back to Santiago when we were stuck on new years day. As for the accommodation, it is as described- safe, secure and clean. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. I will definitely be recommending B&B La Nina to anyone travelling to Valparaiso.

United KingdomIf you don’t want to stay in a house with a family then it is probably not for you.
Rene the owner and his wife were lovely. Property has some new outdoor space. Sadly we didn’t have time to enjoy it as we only had a short stay. Great breakfast and chats with Rene each morning. Happy to make dietary adjustments. Lots of helpful advice for Valparaiso and Chile more generally!

SingaporeNothing.
The owner Rene manages the B&B exceeding well and strives his best to meet the needs of the guests. A very warm and inviting accommodation nestled among walkable sights in the hills of Valparaiso, with many great cafes and promenades to catch great views of the harbor and hills. The location is also ideal for buses to Vina Del Mar and other areas in Santiago, Rene also does an excellent job or providing information and recommendations for dining and tours. You will not regret the decision to stay here if you like warm hospitality and cozy surrounding.

GermanyThe location is perfect in the middle of the old town surrounded by bars and restaurants. The hostel was one of the most hostile places I visited during my 6 weeks trip through Chile. And that has a lot to do with René, the host. He is really trying to make the best out of the stay in Valparaiso and gives a lot of hints and tips and takes his time for conversations not only about Valparaiso, also about lots of other topics. Breakfast is happening with all travellers at the same table wich always meant good conversations in the morning and I have to say breakfast is fantastic - it's alone a reason to stay at this hostel. I wish I can return one day to this fantastic hostel.
