Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThis hotel is a family run local business. The location literally couldn't be better, there is a small market down the street where you can buy water and snacks and its very close to restaurants and a rock pool for swimming. I generally tend to stay in more upscale hotels but im so glad i stayed here for this experience. Benjamin and his family were wonderful. Benjamin gave detailed recommendations and insights. He picked me up and dropped me off seamlessly which can cause anxiety as a solo traveler. There were guests working there too, if your job is flexible with not many zoom calls im sure you could work from this location. Wifi worked fine for me while i was there. The rooms are not incredibly sound proof but there is always hot water and lovely gardens and a pool. Remember time zone shifts by 2h from santiago! my only regret is not staying longer. Would recommend longer than 3 nights.

United KingdomThey sent me a message saying they would collect us at the airport but no one was there and then they claimed someone had waited till the last minute which was clearly untrue or we would not have had to walk. They also denied receiving my dietary restrictions when it is clearly showing under Special Requests.
Lovely breakfast area, nice room, good shower and air con, good location. Julio made lots of effort to make me a daily breakfast suitable for my dietary restrictions.

United StatesThere was a lack of coordination with our pick up transfer from the airport which forced us to get an expensive taxi (some can still take advantage of naive foreign visitors!) that the manager did reimburse us upon arrival. Still, first impression was somewhat spoiled…. Internet is weak, only in lobby area/dining area available, but that was already expected so was not much of a problem and it is good to disconnect anyway. Filtered water should be available for guests. Supposedly tap water is not a problem, but bottled water is sold everywhere and the hotel does not even provide a few bottles free, not even at arrival as many hotels in the works do!
Location is excellent. Hotel is two blocks from the Mercado Artesanal which is basically the center of town, three blocks from the coast line with many restaurants, ice cream shops, banks and the wonderful Turtle beach where one can plunge into the water with the locals, and despite being next to the anchored boats, has inviting turquoise colored water to swim. The church is also only for blocks up the hill from the hotel. We got a very nice big room which like all rooms, was surrounded by lush gardens. Hot shower was excellent and we slept very well in very comfortable beds! Breakfast is very good and plentiful: cereal, yogurt, toast bread with cheese and ham available, fruit juices and fresh fruits with coffee and tea in buffet style. Owners were not there during our four night stay, but the manager in charge (Julio) helped us with possible contacts with tours, etc. which in the end we did not book, but found information in the tourist office, just three blocks away where one can also buy the mandatory park tickets to visit the island attractions. He also shared with me many interesting conversations with some of his Rapa Nui friends, which provided even more knowledge of this beautiful island and customs.

Netherlandsthe Wi-Fi is slow but that is everywhere on the island. other than that, NOTHING!
Amazing hotel and simply one of the best we have stayed at during our 3 month stay in South America. Benjamin and Annie are the best hosts, they were super informative, honest about how the current situation with mandatory guides work and nothing was too much to ask. we enjoyed our conversations with them over breakfast. the hotel gardens are insanely lush and tropical and the pool is delicious! rooms are spacious and have AC which was very much needed in hot and humid Easter island. location of the hotel is on the crossroad of two main streets so there are a lot of restaurants within 5 min walking distance.

This place was amazing. We came in the night from the airport and were really hungry. The hosts prepared a sandwich for us and offered something to drink. So lovely!!

CanadaBathrooms need some upgrades but everything was working fine.
The owners are the nicest people! They care so much about the experience each guest has while at their place. They were so helpful and organized our tours, suggested things to do, and places to eat. The breakfast was great each morning and the gardens surrounding the hotel are beautiful. Wonderfully relaxing after a warm day of touring!

AustraliaVery disappointing. Room was poorly maintained, almost unfinished. Electricals unreliable, no screens despite mosquito warnings. No contingency for "frequent" power outages - no generator, no torches, no pathway lighting. Of course, no internet, no hot water! Management staff rarely evident leaving our questions to kitchen staff.
Good location and Polynesian vibe.

United Kingdom- deceiving photo in Booking showing that it is adjacent to the beach when it is not at all - 10 min away - rooms with some humidity - room maintenance can be improved (broken tiles in the bathroom and others). - pool not particularly clean - staff not particular helpful (couldn’t even find a taxi for us)
- location - family run business

United StatesThe bathroom was smelly and gross, the room was super dark and infested with flies. You can tell that the rooms haven’t been remodeled in decades. Moss and dirt is the main theme in the room.
The common spaces are exceptionally pretty, there is a lot of thought on each little detail to make the place look like a little paradise.

United KingdomOk this is where things get tricky. There is a small holder farm or something next to hotel ( common here) but the rooster was basically backed up to bathroom so frequently woken in night and early morning. However, the poor overall score was due to RATS in the roof space right above bed. All night , every night we would lie awake listening to these furry fiends run around, chew up prey ( a rat crunching up what sounds like bone is not pleasant ) and breeding. We like nature but that was just not for us . When I asked if rats were an issue , management response was “yeah it’s common” . Checked out after 2 nights and happily took non-refundable hit to sleep somewhere else.
The accommodation is a bit basic and dated and the bathroom and bedroom had definitely seen. Better days . The whole place had a peaceful vibe despite having a large tour group staying. The location is pretty good with the coast only an easy 5 min walk .

United StatesRooms are a bit dated with poor lighting. we needed to open windows to get rid of the musty smell in the room. Accommodations on Rapanui are too expensive for what you get.
Staff were super friendly and helpful, good breakfast, nice garden area and small plunge pool for hot days. Our room had good wifi, TV (which we never turned on), small working fridge, nice hot shower, and AC (which we didn't need to use in October). You can drink the tap water. Other guests were happy with trips organized through the hotel. We got modestly cheaper tours by booking direct. Shuttles to and from the airport were great.

AustraliaVery tired rooms, well in need of renovation, upgrades, poor lighting. But noise from property behind the hotel was annoying - dogs barking, loud music motorbikes etc during the night - not every night. Sadly , the whole island is still trying to recover from 3 years of no revenue during Covid so rejuvenation will take time. We need to support the recovery process, but be prepared for this.
