Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongNot much. Maybe Wifi that has a built-in VPN to go around the government firewall?
There's a Chinese expression: "麻雀雖小,五臟俱全" “A sparrow may be small, but it has all the five organs”. This applies very well to this hotel. Even though the overall building is small, it has a charming and beautiful library, with a hidden 2nd-floor balcony garden, and an artistically decorated hallway gallery. The rooms are also comfortable and roomy (We are a family of six, and we stayed in the Li Yuan Two Bedroom Suite.) They also offer unlimited free expressos (with an expresso machine), and cold bottled drinks in the lobby. The staff are amazing. During our stay, Tang Tang and her colleagues help us in many different situations. For example, You need to have a local Chinese phone number to make registration for Tiananmen Square. We didn't have one. So Tang Tang helped us to make the registration with her number. Her colleague also went the extra mile in helping other visitors set up their Alipay accounts (Almost impossible to buy/pay for stuff without it). The cleaning staff ladies are also very friendly and gracious to our children, who unfortunately made most of the messes that they cleaned up. And of course, Pudding (布丁) the cat became the prime attraction for our kids and made us feel at home. The location is excellent. It is about a 5-minute walk with many local eateries with a wide range of Chinese cuisine from different parts of the country. It becomes a lively place for a late-night snack/meal. It is also a walkable distance to a grocery store (~10 mins), Starbucks/McDonalds (~15 mins), and Wangfujing Street (20-30 mins).

CanadaAlways pleased with my stays here, and this was no exception. This is an affordable and always improving craft hotel, not like a major international chain, and it's run by dedicated locals who want you to remember the character of their community and outstanding personal friendliness. Every time I need assistance with anything (especially because my Chinese language skills are poor), the staff demonstrate the best of what hotel support for travellers should mean. Lishi Hutong is a largely residential and quite quiet hutong/alley in central Beijing, and most of central Beijing's major attractions are within a comfortable (and interesting) half to 3/4 hour walk, often less. A convenient subway stop is maybe 10 minutes walk away, and there's lots of great shopping and food choices in the very immediate area. And don't neglect wandering around the neighbouring hutongs, too--you'll get a feel for Beijing life that you won't find any other way.

This is a perfect location to move to any place in beijing. All are in 15 mins by taxi. More important the team in this hotel was amazing. Alex, Qiyan. Liu,,Alex,Jiahui You can't order a taxi cause as a foreigner you can't use the app so they do it for you and they find you a cash accepts one cause you can't pay by WEpay or Alipay. You can't go back to the hotel cause again you can't order a taxi so you call them and they help you. You cant rent a bike which makes your life easier cause you can't use the app you ask them and they fix it for you.... Forget bed and bathroom comfort people are more important. If you are a foreigner this is the right place for you to stay. Thank you very much

United KingdomSome minor quibbles, not significant enough to mention, if you're looking for somewhere central to sleep. I had no interaction with other guests - no-one was using the communal area outside because it was raining.
All as expected. Slept well.

SingaporeI think most rooms do not have a window, and other than the common resting area, and no other facilities. Resulting in feeling not so comfortable. The external environment is considered one of the most dirty hutong in Beijing. With the same price, I think it is not a problem to look for a better hotel nearby.
The location is less than 50m from the main road, renovation is quite new and clean environment. Staff are friendly.

United StatesThe only things I didn’t like about the property is that breakfast and laundry facilities were listed as being available on the website. As we’ve been traveling for a few weeks, I booked this room partially because I thought I could do our laundry. This made for an inconvenience and difficulty having clean clothes.
We liked the location- interesting things within walking distance. Easy to catch a taxi on the main street. Subway was about 15 minute walk. We liked the 2 spacious bedrooms and it was nice to have a common area near the back of the hotel to sit. The staff was very kind and friendly. We appreciated all the bottled water, fresh towels and keeping an eye on our luggage after we checked out.

Germany1. Bad check in process they asked me quite private info, including where/when I entered China, where I have been in after entering!! I never experienced that in this journey in China! 2. Bad equipment I booked the cheapest room at this 4 stars hotel for 5 nights. however, the shower was broken without warm water and I even couldn’t turn the water off. EVEN NO CHAIR IN THE ROOM! 3. Bad response There was only 1 Guy at the hotel at the night. he tried to repair the water taps and failed at almost 1 am. I asked for another room but they said it’s full now.
The girl at the reception was quite nice and can be trusted! She earned 2 scores for this rating
