Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Chinanothing particular.
The best thing in this hotel is the friendly staff and their hospitality. They handle English and are so nice to kids. Hotel restaurant's food was great. The hot tub in the room was comfortable. the beds were also great because it was fluffy and warm. I really enjoyed the stay in the Nook Hotel. :)

ChinaLocation is pretty dull and feels like a very newly built office park. Maybe didn't help that we visted over CNY when everything was closed but there wasn't much close by. That said, the metro station is about 2 mins away so it doesn't take long to get somewhere more interesting.
Really nice and very relaxing hotel. Rooms and furnishing finished to a high standard and breakfast was good quality; mostly Chinese but with some "western" options. Kids enjoyed the little playroom and gym was also clean and well kitted out. Reception lobby/library a nice relaxing space also. Staff friendly and polite and CNY gifts for the children were appreciated. Would stay again if back in Hangzhou.

Spainanything! we really find The Nook outstanding and come back for sure whenever we think in costing Hangzhou again!
Very well located, quite close to Guandong Xincun metro stop (just follow the street straight to escalators and you are there to move around in a quite convenient way). The hotel is just amazing, very nice decorated and the attention could be better, Summer and her staff make everything at their hand to make you feel absolutely at home! special mention to breakfast and to playground, if you travel with kids you’ll love to have this area so that they can play while inside.

United KingdomI wonder how the hell did the hotel manage get its 5* and 8.8/10 rating. The hotel is located in an out of city centre nondescript residential area. From the moment I entered the hotel, I started to get bad feeling of what is to come. The hotel lobby was dim and basic with many guest suitcases stored in plain sight behind the front desk, and a few sand bag looking big bags were also lying right next the the front desk. Hardly the look of a 5* hotel lobby. The so called library is just a dimly lit area right next to a busy eating area wherethe kids were running and the adults werechatting. After checking in I was led to a dark lift area which took me to a long dark corridor with a huge dehumidifier humming. My “hill view” room looked straight at the front gate of a concrete school. It feels as if I’m staying at a cheap motel. I requested to change to a different room. I was shown two rooms, one looks onto an even uglier concrete building at the back, the other two doors away from the previous room, and I took the latter. The so called bathroom was made up of dark glass walls. There is no door so when there are guest in the room one can’t really use the bathroom. The floor and walls are tiled with slate, and dimly lit by LED strip badly glued onto the ceiling. The toilet room stank of dried urine, which after complaining was still there. The window is so old that I couldn’t close it and the technician had to come with tools to close it. My room felt damp, and sure enough when I got into my bed that evening, the sheets felt sticky because of the dampness, even though a dehumidifier had been working in the room. The furniture in the room in stead of being “Japandi” as some reviewers called it, it just looked cheap and dated. All in all I couldn’t find anything good to say about the hotel apart from the front desk, and I checked out the next day even though I booked for three nights.
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, which is the only positive thing about this hotel

United KingdomI really didn't like how you could see the toilet (and above sitting on it) from the room. Glass walls just don't do the job. TV didn't work. No iron or ironing board.
Good view, comfortable bed. Breakfast was okay.
