Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongCoffee at breakfast was pretty bad, not sure to what extent other guests care about the coffee but I would suggest upgrading their machine (their machine was called Dr Coffee for what it’s worth). Room was a bit too hot even after I turned the temperature way down but I found everywhere indoors in Hefei very hot so not specific to the hotel (I was there in Dec).
Very nice new hotel, rooms well decorated, very clean, facilities nice (though not excellent). I was happy with location but I’m not too familiar with Hefei.

NetherlandsNothing much. Biggest problem we encountered was that the hotel assumed we had wechat and the room service menu was only available via QR code. That forced us to eat at the bar instead of ordering room service.
Friendly staff, especially the hearing impaired doorman, concierge and the friendly cleaning lady, ye shou feng, stood out. Excellent help getting our stuff to the room and the room was super clean.

It was my first time staying in The Langham Hefei, though I can say it was my third as I extended my stay twice. The staff’s courtesy, warmth and right level of care started right at entry of the hotel lobby. The wall to wall and floor to ceiling marble can be cold, but The Langham Hefei ‘s lobby feels warm and happy due to its yellow hue lighting I believe. I could immediately smell flowers once I stepped in the lobby, pleasant but not overwhelming. It came from a huge bouquet composed of hundreds of pink lilies, not the pink roses representing The Langham worldwide. I prefer lily’s smell anyway. The bouquet is by the front desk, so one could enjoy the lilies while waiting for check-in. As a matter of fact, I waited no time. Ada Yang greeted me and checked me in within 2 minutes. I was very glad I moved from the other 5-star hotel which I had been told it was considered the ceiling of Hefei hotel scene. It took that hotel 10 minutes to check me in plus swiped my credit card on the wrong machine that caused the spending authority refused initially. The breakfast experience was also great! The Seasons restaurant has a big capacity so I was always able to be seated whenever I went down. House keeping also checks on guests each afternoon not see any additional help are needed. After two nights stay, I decided to change my original plan to continue staying at The Langham Hefei. It was again Ada Yang who helped me with the extension. She continued to be warm, professional and efficient. Due to my itinerary change, I extended my stay again. This time it was Kristen He (XIAO He) who helped me. From XIAO He I also experienced the Langham quality- courtesy, warmth, knowledge and efficiency. Being asked about absence of Langham’s pink uniform, she explained to me the responsibilities of each role and separation of roles in Langham’s efforts to optimize guests’ experience. She went extra miles to ask her manager’s permission to give me a complimentary Happy Hour.

China1. Check-in and reservation procedure was disappointing. Quoting other guests words that I heard in the scene, 'if you cannot manage to serve this large amount of guests, don't sell your rooms to this extent.' I knew it was at its peak weekend due to the concert. However, if I could choose to pay upon arrival on Booking.com, how dare the reservation department called me and requested me if I could pay / make a payment transfer to the colleagues in advance to secure the reservation? Does it sound good to you? If you cannot manage this due to peak season, shut the option off on booking for pay upon arrival and require a full payment in advance! Isn't it simple? After communicating with the reservation department that I'd be arriving by half past four in the afternoon, I gave my words, and they warned there was a possibility I would got cancellation if I didn't show up on time. It turned out, I showed up on time SHARPLY, but the room was NOT ready. I was sent to executive lounge for an hour for the room preparation. If you cannot make the room ready, how dare you ask me to show up in time? During my waiting in executive lounge, the reservation department called again and checked if I've arrived. Funny innit? I was waiting for the readiness of the room, you called me if I arrived? Terrible experience in checkinig in and freaking disappointed by the chaostic management and coordination between reception and reservation department. 2. In-room dining wasn't a good experience. I ordered a noodle, the soup was saulty but the noodle was plain... Tasted like they were not in the same bowl. The funniest thing was, I tried to order at midnight again, I was browsing the menu which was stating 'the offer is for 11:30 pm to 6:00 am' but the restaurant was closed. Huh? Then who were the midnight menu for?
The location is really nice. I went there for a concert, where was only across the street. The room was really large and spacy, exceeding my expectation. It was surprising the in-room service was time-saving, I called for extra bottles of water during peak time I guess (all guests attended the tour have been returning to their room at the same time), the service delivered those fast than my expectation. And a welcoming plate of fruit was a nice treat. Checking out procedure was efficient, and the deposited money for room service returned fast, which is great! I liked the smile from the receptionists.
