The staff are extraordinarily helpful, particularly Miss Jiajia and Mr Zhou. They picked us up from the station free (and returned us) made step by step arranged trips for us, recommended restaurants and so on. Nothing was too much trouble. We were upgraded free to the best room in the hotel, which was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, decorated in the traditional Chinese style with lovely ornaments, furniture, fish ponds etc. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the old town of Lijiang which is a World Heritage site. The hotel and its location could be a problem for those with walking difficulties because there are quite a lot of stairs and cobbled streets. Breakfast is Chinese style, which was OK for us but may not be what western visitors.might expect. A safe in the room would be very useful.

Honestly, I can't think of anything about the hotel! It was the perfect venue from which to explore this area for a few days.

The hotel is stunningly beautiful --- great traditional architecture, fish ponds, and views out over Lijiang. My room was huge and really nicely decorated. The foot massager was a particularly fantastic feature after long days of walking. Even better though was the staff, particularly Xiao Zhao! He picked me up at the train station, arranged guides to take me to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Tiger Leaping Gorge, and kindly provided restaurant recommendations for dinner each night. He made me feel right at home and my Lijiang experience was amazing as a result! Can't recommend enough.

Hotel offers different package with round trip airport/ train station transfer. It gave us time to be more familiar with first self travel in china. Location at first seemed out of town and hard access by car, it was rather just 1 minute walk after we got off a car. There is a path that we can walk to water wheel in 5 minutes and of course to foods street.

The hotel was beautiful and the location was excellent, set above the old town of Lijiang with wonderful views over the rooftops. Close enough to walk easily but quiet too. Rooms were sumptuous and beds very comfortable. The staff were great too. In particular, Jimmy was excellent. Jimmy speaks very good English and nothing is too much trouble. He picked us up from the train station, dropped us off (early) at the airport and took us in a wonderful day trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge and Shangri-La. He also gave is excellent dining recommendations - very helpful when there are so many options!

Great location, above the old town with easy access to explore. Very spacious and clean room with traditional accents. Wonderful breakfast overlooking old town. This boutique hotel was the best place we stayed at during our China trip, it beat the big hotel chains because of the more intimate size, less crowds and personal service. We received a complimentary pick up from the airport and lots of personal attention. The staff was really great, Amber in particular was so attentive and took care of all our needs, including arranging an onward trip to Tiger leaping gorge and Shangri-la. Overall a wonderful stay and would definitely come back to this charming hotel and city.

We had a marvelous experience at the Zen Garden hotel in Lijiang. The hotel is ideally located in the old town. Our room was spacious, clean, and well equipped (it even featured a foot massage device). It offered a splendid view of Lijiang and the mountains beyond. Breakfast was very tasty. The staff were genuinely friendly and exceptionally helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible, even going as far as guiding us to a restaurant they had booked for us, or driving us to the train station on the day of our departure. I don't remember being welcomed quite like this in any hotel I have visited before.

We enjoyed everything.

This is a beautiful boutique quaint gem of a place in Lijiang. It has a stunning view from the dinning room window of the rooftops in Lijiang. It is perfectly located, right in the middle of the Old Town Lijiang. The staff of this hotel is friendly, helpful and with a "I can help you with that" attitude. It was wonderful to spend Christmas here.

Everything was excellent!

This hotel clearly exceeded our expectations. The hotel is very well-situated, right in the ancient city of Lijiang. It makes the location of the accommodation very convenient for travelers who want to enjoy an ancient Chinese city. The staff took care of every single detail of our stay so we could have a pleasant experience: from contacting us to offer free pickup services to the attention we received during our stay. All the communication was in English. The room and facilities were outstanding. We had an excellent and superb stay at this accommodation. We absolutely recommend it to upcoming Lijiang visitors!

The bed is a little bit too soft.

Location: on the top of the mountain, with great view of the whole Dayan old city. Transportation: can access by taxi, close to the NW gate of old city. Facilities: all you need can be found here. It has a projector and you can play your own video here. Environment: cozy and warm. Staff: friendly and willing to help.
