Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaThe room was very clean, all amenities are provided, during colder time they provide bed heater. Location is quiet and calm (very recommended for running/walking around) and not too far from Railway station (15 mins drive). The breakfast was also very nice , it feels like home! The building feels and looks very modern chinese. I would give 11/10 for the receptionist! He was very kind and friendly! Would 100% recommend when you’re planning to stay in Guilin.

AustraliaExcellent service and the room was great for the kids as they enjoyed playing with the soft toys and novelty of the bunk bed which they don’t have at home. Breakfast was a western toast and egg option or rice noodle. Lovely driver and guide who took us around Guilin and the city itself on the days we were there, highly recommended!

SingaporeThe room is spacious and clean. When we arrived & departed, they helped us to carry our luggage up and down the stairs. Breakfast of both Chinese and Western are simple but delicious. Free laundry service. It is recommended to hire car and driver for a day to tour to the outskirts. Our guide and driver Eric, is excellent in bringing us around and introducing nice food and places of interest. He is also very knowledgeable. DiDi is also easily available.

MalaysiaThe last few days at the resort have been perfect. The room is spacious and bright, and the scenery outside the window is lake and mountain. When I open the window, the fresh air comes with the fragrance of grass and trees. The hotel is well equipped, and the nearby dining is varied and the specials are delicious. Warm and attentive staff are taken care of from arrival to departure, come back next time!

Hong KongThe staff is very friendly and helpful. Great customer service: they kept in touch with me through the chat when I missed my train from Hong Kong, which with this being my first ever trip to China was a great support. They also helped me with trips and booked and arranged my cruise to Yanhshuo with the best company. The property is located in a charming village on the outskirts of Guilin, surrounded by farms. The town can either be reached with an easy DD ride or, like I did, by bicycle. The latter allows you to get the most amazing experience as you reach the centre of the town by following the excellent cycling paths along either the Taohua river and the Yangjia Pond. The views from both rides are magical. If you do so, please don't miss crossing the river from the bridge at Lucia

Enjoyed the friendly family run small hotel / Inn. The rooms were small but nicely set up & clean. Got some laundry done & it was free thank you for that 🙏 Had a great breakfast with the Inn keeper, good coffee & tea . Both Chinese & Western available. Plus a drink in his bar was relaxing. They recommended a Chinese restaurant about 200m up the road and that was amazing & such a good price. The best Chinese we had eaten in our whole trip.

SingaporeWe booked 3 rooms for 7 pax. The host, XiaoMing gave as a free upgrade to a villa since it is their low period. Breakfast and coffee were simple but good (lots of fruits with choice of toast or Guilin noodle). The location is a nice little village beside the river. Very nice scenery. There are free electric bike at the resort to ride around the area and even to the cave near by.

IndonesiaEverything is just good, no complaints, we have a free shuttle service to the train station which was rather early I left at about 5 am to catch our next destination, the early train for my 11-hour journey to Lijiang and to our surprise at 5 am the car came and at the reception we had 2 bags of breakfast to brought to the train. For all this nice hospitality surely there is nothing I dislike.
To our surprise, the hotel was just across from our hotel the day earlier and it is at the same group management. The room is comfortable, but since we were at another hotel earlier this room was smaller compared with the spacious large room with a better view. We had warm air-conditioning which comforted us the moment we entered the room since it was winter and we were not prepared with warmer clothes. The location was just the same as Serene Vale Inn since they were in one courtyard together as a family business. It has a restaurant where we had our breakfast . It serves lunch and dinner also.

SingaporeThe room were comfortable however there were small items which needed fixing which he fixed it immediately when I told him. Fresh towels and clean service. The heater in the rooms weren’t strong enough during winter so it was quite cold during the night for my comfort.
The owner Xiaoming was Fantastic. Very helpful, clear and he will do anything to make your stay comfortable. The place has E-bikes for guests staying there and it was the highlight for my kids. They even had kids e-bike. You can ride the e-bike around the compound safely and there is a nice bike path for you to go on as well to nearby places like the flute cave. Laundry was included and very convenient. Breakfast was nice and you can always ask him to prepare something different. Top notch service and gave him a good tip for his marvellous service.

The combination of its beautiful courtyard, comfortable room, excellent service, and convenient location make it ideal choice for anyone visiting Guilin. The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful I’ve encountered during my travels. Xiao Ming went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, providing recommendations for local restaurants and attractions.
