Nice hotel about 15-20 minutes walk to the Lakeside Great Wall. The interior is super interesting and has everything needed for your stay. Everything is super clean and tidy.

High air humidity and mosquitos - it is a mountainous area. Still, I would not change my decision to stay for six nights.

I strongly recommend this guest house for all with special diets ( vegetarian etc.), The chef always found a solution to my dietary concerns - and for the best coffee in Beijing (photos in a gallery). I needed to attend meetings of German time, I do appreciate a lot that I could use an extra room for working at late night. The internet connection was much faster in this guest house than in hotels in Beijing. I was amazed how quiet the place was, this is exactly what one needs on vacation. The friendly attitude of the guest house team is exceptional, definitely I will come back again!

The address we got was not exact (or the GPS gone wild) and had to ask locals for help 😅... If you don't speak Chinese, better have the address written in Chinese characters so the people can help you.

The hotel is just adorable! With a cute design, an accessible rooftop, patio and rooms with different design according to their names (we stayed in the "Deer searching" room). The rooms are rather simple but you don't stay there long either way 🙂. The staff was great, tried helping as much as possible with everything. And the breakfast we bought was so huge! Very good value for money!

Nice courtyard and dining room, food were excellent. Buffet breakfast every morning was also a highlight, fresh and delicious. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Convenient location for visiting some of the scenic spots.

There‘s really only one tiny detail that could be better, as the entire bathroom was also the shower (no shower curtain or cabin) the entire floor would be wet for hours and when going to the toilet afterwards the entire room floor would get wet. A water squeegee would be really helpful here :)

Location The guest house is located in a cute little village in Beijing‘s countryside about a 2 hour drive away from Beijing’s City center and 25 minutes walking distance from the great wall (黄花城水长城 Huanghuacheng Shuichangcheng)or a short 3 minute drive by taxi (arranged by the guesthouse for a small fee). It is also possible to go to another location where one can access the great wall, it is about 35minutes by taxi (慕田峪长城 Mutianyu changcheng). Hosts The hosts of the little guest house made us feel very much at home and made sure we had everything we needed. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and used translator apps to communicate whenever I ran out of Chinese basics. Having said that, even though we had none or very limited Chinese skills they wanted to get in touch and were curious to learn about our plans for the day or the trip in general and it was very nice to have a chat with them. As they run not only the guest house but also a little restaurant, they would also make sure we could order food and drinks, even though our weixin (wechat) pay didn‘t work. The kitchen is phenomenal! We can only recommend the food, the people and the atmosphere. Room We were in a family room and it had everything we needed, towels and shower products were provided, the room was bigger than we‘d expected and there was a couch and a little sitting corner as well.

Everything. From accommodation to cleanliness to the staff's behavior to the food and etc etc. They cared for us like their own family members. I have been in China for more than six months and this is the best behavior I got from the Chinese people. Even the townspeople's behavior was so good. The room was clean, had a really nice smell all the time. The view of the hotel was really scenic. It was surrounded by the mountain. The Huang hua Cheng great wall was near the hotel, by around 1 mile. And the Mutian Yu great wall was around 25 km afar. Transportation can be arranged through the hotel. I loved their food too. Overall, all I can say is, staying in this guesthouse is 200% worth it. If there was a way to increase my rating, I would have rated it to 11+ out 10 😅❤️

Nothing really per se. I just didn't like the fact that they didn't tell me there would be water repairs on my first day, so I had to be resources in order to be clean.

The hosts are amazing. They did everything they can to make my stay there as comfortable as possible. The guest house is close enough to the wall, it's about a 25 minute walk which I used to explore the village further. They have a Restaurant in the guest house and this made my first night there easy because I didn't have to go somewhere else to find food.

You need to take 2-3 hours bus to the hostel. It might be difficult if you don't understand chinese.

Getting a taxi in the area is very difficult. The staff of the hotel helped me getting to the closest subway in exchange of a fee. It's more expensive than a taxi, but reasonable.

The location is close to the Great Wall. Staff is amazing. Friendly and very helpful. They helped getting to The Great Wall last minute to see the sunset. They drove me in a motorcycle with trailer. It was great fun! The environment is welcoming and very nice. Price extremely reasonable and they make great coffee!!! Recommend 100%
